Not necessarily. While the '03 and '04 Coupe had more power than the sedan (280 hp vs 260), the '05 and '06 Sedans had the same amount of power as the coupe: 280 hp 5AT and 298 hp 6MT link. Like the current V36/CV36, the V35 weighed less than the CV35.
Good point....I guess it could really go either way then..BTW I think the whole adding HP exclusively to the M/T model is whack. If anything the Coupe should have more power and torque regardless of A/T or M/T, and also A/Ts need to become 6spd!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Guyz..been lurking for 2 weeks..first post...
What will be interesting about the g37 Coupe will be once the GT-R drops. As some of you know, The GT-R's platform shares some parts with the FM platform in our g37, g35, 350z, m35, fx35, primarilly ahead of the cabin. What will be interesting is that due to the flexibility of the platform, we could see a wild assorment of engine options, we've seen 350z and g35's with SR20DET's...G35, 350Z and even a FX35 with a RB26DETT, and of course, the Top Secret G35 had the VK45DETT (Q45 V8)...What will be interesting is how many manufactuers decide to swap the VR38 into the G37 Coupe/350Z as it's perfectly feasiable save for the Transmission swap which is gonna be a pain in the culo! Newayz, jus wanted to share my thoughts and glad to be on the forums with you guyz!

History:
02 G35 sedan - 260hp (underrated, actually making the same 280 as coupe)
03 G35 Coupe - 280hp
05 G35 Sedan - 280hp (change merely on paper)
06 G35 Coupe - 298hp (Rev Up Motor, modified internal & plenum)
07 G35 Sedan - 306hp (VQ35HR twin intake)
08 G37 Coupe - 330hp (modified VQ35HR)
Nissan usually underrate their new motors by 10-15hp so they can 'add them on' later on to make new models more appealing. The VQ37 can produce well over 340hp, but that would make the VK45 motor in the M45 & FX45 look bad.
