G37 drivers that came from G35c
This is a question to only those who currently drive a G37 and came from G35c:
Do you have any regrets getting a G37, compared to G35c? If so, what are they? I'm looking for an honest opinions... of course, I udnerstand that some people will defend their purchase decision - even though they might feel different inside.
Here is my background. I'm about to turn 29 years old... single (no wife or kids). I'm currently driving a 2007 G35c and my lease is about to end in 8 months. I can afford all the cars listed below fully loaded - but I prefer to pick and chose my options - usually a little bit more than base.
The new G37 has a nice interior, nice upgrade in power (330 vs. 275), but for some reason, the outside style, even though it is nice - its not stellar.
The two others cars that I'm considering are 335i coupe and A5 Coupe. The BMW, from what I have read, is noticeably faster. It is also more expensive, but I would probably do a European Delivery and thus the difference in price between G37 and BMW (they way I want to configure) would be about $3~4K. The biggest worry is the reliability - as we all know, the BMW has been having problems with overheating turbos. Granted, I would never take the car to the track, but I don't want to worry about braking it down either. As far as the style, it looks slightly better than the G37 - but not by much. It also gets better gas and has more room - but not sure how it will hold if I was going to keep it for 5 or so years.
The next car is the A5... I think its the best looking from all 3... also worried about its reliability and being a first year production.
If they could combine the A5 style, with 335 performance and G37 reliability, it would be a no brainer. but it doesn't exist.
So, I'm back to G37... not b/c its the best looking, but b/c it will probably be the most reliable in the long run. I still think that the '07 model G35c, looks a little bit better than the G37. Any regrets for those who switched to G37?
When my lease ends, I can probably find a few new G35c...
Your opinon would be greatly appreciated...

Will you lease again? How long will you own it?
BMW also includes maintenance for 4 years. They are not having overheating problems anymore, especially if you get the Sport Package or 6MT. In 07, with those options, and ALL 08s, they have an additional oil cooler.
A few early 07s have fuel pump failures, but 08s have an upgraded piece.
If you lease, the BMW is not much more at all - much better money factors. The G37 looks okay, but it doesn't stick out to me like the G35c did/does. And the fact that it's not any faster really frustrates me.
I'm in a similar dilemma, only considering the IS350 instead of the A5. Regular A5 is boring, and the S5 has CRAZZZZZY leases.

I would buy this time... don't have a business where I can write off my lease payments and I would want to keep the car for about 5 years.
With LA traffic, I would go for an auto - even though I know how to drive stick (1st car was a Toy. Supra stick).
I also thought about the IS 350... like the front, the back is ok... also so-so with the overall style and don't need the 4 doors - especially since the room in the back is almost non exisitng. There is something sexy about a coupe... sedans are ok. It would be nice if lexus would come out with IS 350 coupe - and there are rumors - but not any time soon.
I feel like almost sticking with the '07 G35c - but I wouldn't buy out my lease - it was in a accident.

i think you should test drive them to better get a feel of what you want. on paper and magazine stats my choice was the 335i...but i test drove both and i'm now an infiniti owner. once you drive them all back to back you'll KNOW right away what you want.
it seems you are leaning toward the 335i. don't worry about reliabiltiy. the new ones are quite solid.
don't forget the IS350. this is always left out because it's a sedan...but it performs very well and it's rock solid as far as reliability. a bit soft on the suspension but a few upgrades can take care of that.

I went from a 2003 G35 Coupe and I do not regret my decision one bit. The G37S is an improvement in every way on the G35C... Interior is worlds above my 03 Coupe, its faster, more nimble etc. I absolutely love my G37S!
My previous car was a 2004 G35C. I test drove a 335 and the G37 before picking the G. I have no regrets with my decision. The car is a huge upgrade from the G35C in almost every way.
i came from an 06 6mt sport loaded. i was very dissappointed when i saw pictures of the production g37. then, about 3 months ago, i saw one driving down the street and knew that i must have one asap. the next weekend, i went and test drove one couldn't have been any more sure that this is the car i wanted. i sold my 35 and waited for my 37 and have absolutely no regrets.

If you go for the 335 I offer you one word of wisdom: LEASE
I wouldn't even consider buying a first year twin turbo from BMW. One of those turbos goes and your probably looking at 10 large for them to fix it.

I came from a G35C (2003) I was underwhelmed by the pictures of the production G37.
But then I went to see it in person. I parked my G35 beside the G37. To me the G37 was a much better looker. My G35 looked dated beside it.
Then I test drove it and I was sold. The G37 was better in every category. Then I saw a black G37 and that put me over the top completely.
No regrets here. I could have bought a 335 but it just doesn't move me other than great acceleration and slightly better fit/ finish.

I had G35/03, my daughter own IS250/06. I thought my next car will be Lexus. So I test drive SC430/05 and very disapponted.
Then I went to test drive G37 for a gift the dealer offer and 2 hrs later I went home with my New G37S Red and left the G35 IP for the dealer. I'll never buy BMW, my brothers have 5 and 3 series and they broke down frequently....
Never regret to own the beautifull and powerfull Red G37S

I test drove G37 and 335 (and a MB C350) back to back. I am totally unbiassed. In the past I owned a BMW but never an Infinity. As a result of my extensive test drive, i came to the conclusion that for the compromises that I need in a car, G37 was the best choice.
