Well, I am glad I stumbled on this thread. I didn't know there are supposed to be background lights in the center console. There were none when I took possession so it never entered my mind. Does anyone know the fuse location for this item?

 

^^ Try turning up the brightness of your lights on the left side of your steering wheel.

 

Yes, that does control the instrument lights as always but not the center console.
