Former S2K owner ?'s

I just sold a like new model year 2000 S2K, was the original owner

I don't have a garage and it would have spent another winter just sitting in front of my house.

I had 18" chrome on it and never drove it in bad weather

I'm, right now, planning on a G37 next spring so I'm starting to do my homework

My biggest concern is the stereo - I've always had an aftermarket audio system in my rides and from what I recall on the original G35 you couldn't just drop high end gear in

Is this still true?

Any audiophile types have any opinions on the stock system?

The S2K forum's big issues with the car centered on clutch issues and soft top issues - are there any "key" issues on the G37 I should know about?

Thanks all in advance

The G37 doesn’t have a standard Head unit type where you can swap units. I personally think the sound is great and no upgrades are needed unless you plan on adding some woofers.

Thats a key question - can you add an amp and sub in the trunk in addition to what comes stock?

Anyone done this?

Comes standard with two woffers in the doors, correct?

Yes, I believe there are 2 woofers in the doors. To add subs and an amp in the trunk would probably take all if not mot your your trunk space...

The car is too new to tell about common issues....give it some time and they will come to the surface.

I'm also a former S2000 owner, and man, do I miss it! I love my 07 coupe, however, there's nothing like an S2000 around corners...unless you start thinking Elise/Exige
