That's interesting. I've never heard of a stock 330i with sport pkg ever beating the G35 coupe. I raced two myself, passed them in second-third gear each time. Anyway, your point is well taken. Car competitions go in cycles. I think the 335i is the closest competitor the G37 has and it will likely stay that way for a few years.

unless BMW decides to re-tune the 335i engine as a 'revision' then listing the power at 330hp (which really makes 370hp....lol).

And let's not forget that BMW decided to come out with a new model (1 series) for the US market and then puts the same engine as the 335i in it? WTF! Granted, the turbo is an option but I just don't see the logic. Now you have a car that will probably have performance numbers very close to the coveted 3 series star for less money. It doesn't come with the niceties of the 335i as standard equipment but still, speed wise the 135i is going to be a monster.

I don't get it.:dunno:

I don't see that happening soon but it could I suppose. Already one can chip the 335i and it will go up against the V8 M3 in straight line acceleration. I do see some minor tweaks on the engine though like Infiniti did to the G35 so they can claim some improvements each year to help sales. However, I see most of the improvements coming in the comfort and convenience arena for the next few years IMO.

it's BMW's answer to the 350Z...which by 09 will be the 370Z....which is now running the 'ring' as we speak..which looks much smaller than the 350Z and is rumored to be lighter...

1 series=toned down, lower amenities, but sportier
Z=toned down, lower amenities, but sportier

Wow, it should be a monster on speed then. We all know how weight affects these cars.

it should...since the 350Z guys now are running 13.3s on the VQ35HR on stock tires...scary what they'll run with the 3.7HR:eek:

we'll see....the prototype Z looks rather small...almost solstice/cayman small...i don't know if that will ever make it to the final design phase. from what i understand americanos like der cars big...lol.
