Just an observation for various car boards, from bimmer forums, to Z forums, to G35 forums, and G37 forums.

It's the usual, "too heavy", "looks aren't as good as concept/G35", "slower than 335i", etc., etc.

for a new car it's getting quite a bit of heat. i never witnessed this kind of backlash when i got my Z in 03.

i guess if it weren't for haters we'd all be just one big circle jerk fest....lol.

 

Forget those haters..They're all jealous that our cars looks a whole lot sexier than theirs'

 

i love it! people always wanna bring down whats on-top!! That's how you know your ride is the sh*t ... when people hate on something there is nothing to hate on! i guess that is the price we paying for having the newest ride on the road!! lol

 

umm. No... Looks are subjective. And yes, the G35 looks better. When my friends and I saw a G37 roll by at a parking lot. I said, "should I trade in my G for that new one?".. Everyone said, NO. Why would you do that? Your G35 looks better then that.

And my 06 Sports Coupe is bone stock. The only good thing on the G37 is the interior and the VVEL.

But, I rather get the 07 sedan then the 37.

LOL, bring it on! Seriously, WGAF? Who cares what other people think about the G37, or any other car you currently drive? If I cared what my friends thought, I wouldn't be driving my G. There will always be haters, not matter what brand you are driving. Drive your G and enjoy it, that's all that matters.

it doesn't bother me a bit whether people like my car or not. i just notice it's been getting some major heat even though all the car mags like it...even at times when they favor the 335i more they still five the G37 a big thumbs up. it's strangley odd how a car with such a good media blitz gets this kind of lashing.

i like Gday's quote thoough "Looks are subjective. And yes, the G35 looks better."....lol. i have to admit, the G35 is a looker...but i think the G37's got a nice look to it as well.

Everyone that has seen my G loves it. I hear no hate and I don't care what some negative forum posters say. They usually have an agenda and their own personal issues to deal with, so I cut 'em some slack.

 

+1 ^^.. and alot of neg forums you would c on e90post.com. and club lexus.. just negative bc of being a competitor. Ex. im a member on e90post.com trying to decide which i should go with and im highly favoring the g37, and they always bring it up. Comparing g37 to the 335i coupe. And they are so neg toward the g37 is ridiculous so i add in my 2 cents

Yes I did. But its true. The G35 looks 10x better. However I like the G37 interior better.

 

For all the guys and gals that bought G37s, I'm sure you're happy with your purchase and love the car's looks, etc. The point I want to make is I love the G35 and it pioneered "sexy coupe" for many car makers in the Infiniti price class, I just feel that they missed the opportunity to blow the doors off the competition by creating an even sexier and better defined G37. Because of that missed opportunity, BMW and others still remain king. I think it's apparent Infiniti is not enjoying superb sales because of it. IMO

 

The reason is dat the G is quite expensive and not everyone can drive one. Therefore ther eis hatred

 

I've been fairly critical of the G37's styling. I was disappointed by how it was softened and not as clean (fussier) compared to the G35 and there are too many cues that remind me of other cars now, which isn't the case with the G35. However, I've been warming up to the G37 and it is a great looking car, just not quite as great as the G35 was. I think the price increase caught a lot of potential buyers by surprise.

I live in the Tampa Bay area with two Infiniti dealers within 15 miles of me, and drive the interstates every day and have only seen one G37 on the road so far!

I can easily see myself getting a G37 in a couple years or so- I like the interior and quality/fit and finish upgrades over the G35- the VQ37HR engine has upgraded (stronger) internals over the VQ35DE and is made in a brand new state of the art factory. The minor irritations of my G35 such as the Rubik's cube dipstick are gone. I've been extremely happy with the quality and fit and finish of my '04 G35 anyway- I haven't had the paint chipping problems and the car has been absolutely faultless thus far.

I am sure that Infiniti will be doing some minor styling changes which will make the G37 look a little more aggressive, such as redesigned front bumper and taillights, by the time I get around to getting a G37 a couple years from now. I am waiting for this to happen before I would buy a G37. I don't know how well the G37 is selling thus far, but it doesn't seem to be selling that well from what I can tell. So I think Infiniti will get the message and make the G37 look a little more aggressive in the upcoming year's models. The G37 is a great car- but it needs to be held the line on pricing and to get some minor styling improvements. It needs REAL fog lights too.
