Yep, nothing beats having good winter tires on your vehicle. It still amazes me that people think AS tires are sufficient for winter time driving and that they consider winter tires an expense.

I'll post pics of my winter setup once it is installed this month. Btw, are you from Canada as well?

Massachusetts...apparently same place as "foxerjr"

Plenty of reason to be concerned about snow though. Although maybe not as much as up your way.

Loooong commute...about 140 miles (225km?) a day.

That's why the only other thing that has me hesitating/researching on the G...sedan or coupe...is the gas mileage.

The info on this site and people's willingness to share real experiences is wonderful.

I wonder how many people buy cars and have no idea these types of forums even exist...

BTW...great color...don't see that many G's in red.

That's a lengthy commute each day. If fuel efficiency is a big concern for you, a G might not be the best choice. The VQ, while an amazing engine, has never been known for fuel efficiency. Overall, I probably average 25-26 mpg (imperial gallons). Not too bad, but not exactly Honda Civic fuel economy. The driving enjoyment far outweighs the fuel costs.

And believe it or not, I don't get all that much snow where I live. I live right along the coast and the temps are a fair bit warmer here compared to inland. I doubt we had much more than 12" of snow for the entire winter last year.

2-225/45VR-19 + 2-245/40VR-19 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 for $970.68 from Tire Rack delivered to my dealer who swapped them onto my stock rims for about $90 total. Your dealer may charge more, $130 was the original quote but they discounted it for me. Maybe some Pics later this weekend.

19" snow tires? You guys are rich ... If I get a G37S model, definitely get dedicated 18" rims with 225/50/18 tires. Too bad Blizzak LM25 is the only model Tire Rack has in that size ...

Otherwise ... Nokian Hakkapeliitta 2 in 235/50/18 ... Only 1.5% bigger circumference to 225/50/18.

Yep drive it every day. UNless it is in a snow storm then i'll take the beater truck. But my wife drives it to work everyother week and that is 130km each way. She likes the lights helps her see the deer on the road before she hits them. She has tottaled a 97 sunfire(don't laugh) and a 2007 equinox (she was not driving but her carpool driver hit ti).

I'm in the Berkshires.. but only 11 miles to work. Thats a long drive you got and snow down 91 not much different than here. Does sound like a 4x sedan may do you well. I don't go adventuring in the snow.. just get me safely home is all I ask.

mileage on my 37s 6MT 19.3 so far after 800 miles (all this info is sinfull!! ...ehehe)

P.S. The 19" Blizzaks are very quiet.. can barely detect a difference.

We got a few cms of snow last night so I figured it was time to get my winter setup installed. I have WS50 Blizzaks installed on OEM 350Z wheels. I purchased this setup from a member on G35Driver back in August for $500 USD.

nice shumby, thanks for the pics. any word on how she handles in the snow?
what tires do you have again in the pics? and lastly, manual or auto?

I have a nissan Xterra and a G37S. not sure if its worth investing into some 19" snowies or just park it in the garage for the winter and buy some new ones for the Xterra instead.

If any one has any experience with 19" snow tires on snow please post your comments

THANKS!!

Very Good in the snow. I still had the stock summers on when i got hit with this snow drove 55km @ 115-120 km/hr on the hiway. It was a little loose but not bad considering.

Again summer 19" but i now have a set of 18" michelin pilot alpins, I will post pics shortly. Wheels are not the greatest looking but they will do for winter.

If you are going with 19" go with Blizzacks. I went with 18" Michelins because I used to work making Michelin Tires in Nova Scotia in their plant. I got a price for 4 19" blizzacks for 1700 while with my tire coupons i got 4 18" Michelin 245/45 18's with rims installed for 2100. So i went this route.

THANKS!!
