Winter Driving
From my earlier post:
2-225/45VR-19 + 2-245/40VR-19 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 for $970.68 from Tire Rack delivered to my dealer who swapped them onto my stock rims for about $90 total. Your dealer may charge more, $130 was the original quote but they discounted it for me.

how long did tire rack take to deliver?
Are you rolling on 19" snow tires after thinkgiving? or are you doing the 18" rim setup with tires? im on the fence about buying Blizzak 19" wheels for the G37. i really want to be believe she'll drive good oin the snow with 19" winters on.
lastly, if you did purchse the 19" snowies -care to share the price and type of tire?
thanks man, BTW i saw ur vid on youtube... NICE! i'll post mine up this weekend -i'll keep you guys posted.

[QUOTE=dzine07;2237596]have you had a chance to test them in the snow yet? is the 37 your daily driver? thanks shiroda - i just now remember reading your post. did you post pics?? i'd like to see that set up.
Well here are the pics of the Bridgestone Blizzak LM2-225/45VR-19 + 2-245/40VR-19 for $970.68 from Tire Rack delivered in 2-3 days to my dealer who swapped them onto my stock rims. As with my 04 G35 coupe, I'll be using this for my daily drive all winter.

Thanks for the pics! That doesn't look bad at all...although that car is so nice looking it would be hard to make it look bad....
Keep us posted on your experiences, good and bad, as you trudge through the snow up there in Chi-town.
I know it's a bit "off thread" but how are you liking your car so far? Anything jumping out at you that you love? hate? or are surprised about?

if you buy dedicated winter tires for your g37 you shouldnt be dissapointed. i live in boston where we get a good amount of snow and i have had no problems with my old g35 coupe in the snow with winters nor do i expect any problems with my new g37 and dedicated winters. I plan to put my new set of winter tires/rims on after thanksgiving.. then take off around march or so. I'll take a daily car that isnt "perferct" in the snow but lives for the summer.. over an all wheel drive thats good all around... but that's just me of course. The point is.. with dedicated winter tires as long as your not driving through drifts 4.5+ inches you should be just fine... AND you'll have a great looking car (inside and out) year round. And dont forget since this car is a few (big macs) heavier it'll most likely perform that much nicer in the winter months.
And remember...keep the shiny side up!
Driving my G37S in Snow
Reporting on my experience with my 2-225/45VR-19 + 2-245/40VR-19 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 swapped onto the stock rims on my G37S.
Well we've had a total of about 7 inches of snow earlier this week. I was able to easily drive out of my unploughed alley. Street driving was also very acceptable. Transitions from snow covered to clear pavement were handled nicely. I felt like my G37s with the 19” snows, handles better than my 04 G35with 17” snows (a much thinner tire, which is presumably better for driving through snow). This is most likely due to the increase in weight of the G37.
Happy Holidays!

I just got my G37S and I was debating whether or not to get (4) 225/45 19s or the (2) 224/45 19 and (2) 245/40 19 and decided to go with the latter and go stock sizes.
So I'll be getting my Blizzak LM-25s but I'll tell you, I wish I could have gotten the Dunlop Winter Sport M3s... I had those on my old 350Z and it was awesome in the snowwwww.
I am in LOVE with the car!

Interesting posts, trying to figure out how bad the tires on the Sport will be in moderate snow or if I would be better of with a non-sport version. Anything bad I probably would end up staying home. Since I will probably lease for 24 months, not sure if I should blow $1000 on tires for potentially two seasons...

it is an electric heater for your block you plug it in in cold weather and it keeps your block warm for the next start up. It is a must up here in Edmonton.

No it comes with it not sure if it is just a Canadian thing or not.( My car is also a Canadian model bought in Edmonton Alberta) It is not an add on option if you pop the hood and look by the drivers headlight the plug is there. I will post pics friday as I am working away from home right now.
