Anyone else delayed in their G's arrival?

My OB G37 with all options but 4WAS has been delayed 3 times.

Original date ETA in July - Aug 28th-Sept 7th.
ETA in late August - Sept 21st
ETA Now - Sept 28th

They also told me "that's strange because many of the other cars ordered in your lot have already arrived."

Anyone else having these problems? This is killing me!

My salesman originally told me +/- the first week of September (aka this week) when I placed my deposit early August. I have yet to receive delivery of my car. However, he did call me yesterday and gave me my car's VIN number as per request, so hopefully that is a sign that it's on the truck...so we'll see if I'll get mine this weekend...

My arrival date was originally August 28 then moved to September 5. My saleman has not been comunicating with me so I called the sale manager yesterday and he showed anOctober 4 delivery date. hE SAID He said he would contact the Infiniti district manager to find out what the delay is. He caled me back about 3 hours later and said that my my car is on the ship and they should take possesion in 2-3 week for a late September delivery. No explanation as to what caused the delay. It seems that Infiniti underestimated what features we were looking for. Plenty of lower end coupes are available.

What bugs me is that I ordered in MARCH.

Is this the Navigation delay issue affecting us?

Those who have posted in this thread, sound off on what options packages you got.

Funny I went test driving yesterday at two dealerships in St, Louis and there are about 40 G37's of all configurations (Journey, Sport, Auto, Manuals) ready for sale. Both dealerships told me they were surprised the cars were not moving well at all. Not sure this is a phenomenon to St. Louis. Cannot believe the dealers in slow markets like St Louis would not trade with stronger markets.

Where do you live though? That's probably the #1 factor.

Seattle.

If I lived in Maine, I'd understand that - but I'm 1.5 days drive from LB Harbor.

I think the economy is headed for an expected downturn - Alrea pulled all my investments out of cylical things like car companies, electronics companies, and luxury goods.

I expect all car sales to fall for all car companies in the next year.

Not to mention the G37 hasn't been marketed all that well IMHO.

But that's all for another thread.

Sorry for your delay. Were the ".....many of the other cars ordered in your lot have already arrived" exactly optioned out the same way as your order?

One minor part in an option package not being delivered to the manufacturing plant on time will delay them from scheduling the build.

Not saying this is the case but many things need to be in sync before a car gets scheduled to be built by the manufacture. The assembly lines need to keep rolling.

If Infiniti can supply you with a vin number then you know your G is either scheduled (usually a couple of weeks out with a build date), has been built or is on its way and is somewhere in the transportation system.

Hope it gets to you soon.

Because you said your initial ETA was July, I am going to assume your dealer has not stayed on top of this situation. Originally, people expected the first cars to arrive in July because the 07 sedans arrived early and because dealers were initially told (unofficially) the first batch of cars might arrive early.

Infiniti then, twice I believe, cleared the system of early orders and told all dealers to re-order everything they had originally ordered. Now, what most likely happened is that your dealer did not re-place your order within Infiniti's time frame to keep your place in line. If you got bumped to the back of the line and your dealer missed the second re-order, then you got bumped backwards again.

Either that, or for some reason your combination of colors and options resulted in a production delay. But, your dealer could have found this out and informed you along the way. Without knowing anything more, it appears your problem is a dealer/salesman problem and not an Infiniti production problem.

No - I mean in July they told me the ETA was Aug 28th-Sept 7th. Not that they gave me an ETA of July.

I ordered in March and heard about the re-orders in June so I went down in early July and made sure my car got reordered and it had. They told me an ETA of Aug 28th - Sept 7th.

Howabout this. Has anyone on this board received an OB G37S 6MT with every option but 4WAS?

I think you're misunderstanding his post. He said that the ETA he got in July was Aug 28th-Sept 7th.

Okay. If your dealer told you in July you had an ETA of late Aug/early Sept, then your dealer was telling you your car was supposed to have been in the second wave of G37's; the delivery wave after the intro/first delivery orders. Now, I am not aware anything other than first wave delivery info was provided to dealers in July. So, I am not sure your dealer was being straight with you. It is still possible your dealer did not resubmit your offer within the short time frame to keep your place in line. Alternatively, your car may have been affected by the earthquake, delaying its delivery by anywhere from one to four weeks.

it has nothing to do w/ the dealer -- Infiniti sometimes will have problems at the port or delays from weather or even getting it past customs.
