First Impressions New Owners

I always like to read about people's first impressions of their new car. Sometimes a comparison to what they drove before is quite revealing as well. I'd like to capture these first impressions in this thread before new owners forget as time goes by.

There is a sticky for test drives, but 20min in a car is a little different than driving it a few days under different conditions. It may help the rest of us to look for or try things in their test drive that they feel important to them. One of the things I like to hear about is night driving, typically you don't get to test drive at night but please don't limit it to that. Say anything that stands out to you.

Thanks and happy driving to the lucky new owners!

I took delivery of my G37 Coupe this evening at 7pm in Houston. I just got home from driving it for the last 2 hours. In a word, this car is awesome. Mine is a Red Journey/sport/Tech/Prem/Nav/spoiler with stone interior. The combination of refinement and power are awesome. The looks in red in my drive way some how are blowing me away too in a good way despite some skepticism from seeing/driving the test vehicle in Black at my dealer a few weeks back. The overall feeling is one of great comfort and luxury with awesome performance and handling. I am not at all a new Infiniti owner, having had 5 Q's a 2003 G35 couple and currently also a 2006 M45 sport. Its time for shower and bed here but I find this car the best looking and it is not deep in the shadows of the others in drive either. I havent really driven the car too fast yet still breaking it in but there is incredible power there evidenced in two lane passing this evening.

I am. It would be nice to at least know if my car is actually at the port but my salesman only speculates that it is.

Riverside Infiniti did receive a truck this morning but mine was not on it so it's still on at the port. I think that 2-3 trucks come to each dealership around this area because Infiniti of Montclair has 14 G37s and I know 14 can't fit on one truck. So if my G37 isn't on the next truck (which comes very, very soon hopefully) then i'll be pissed.

Since you work for Nissan :-), you need to write a possitive review. But seriously, most people once they got their car, all they can say is like "wow, nice ride, nice power, nice interior, nice technology". You need go into a little bit more detail. Say how it drives, turns, understeers or oversteers. How's the initial turn-in, oversteer existing corner, steering feel.

Try to do some donut on your way home from the dealer.

Well I can give an extensive review on the styling, technology, and luxuries of the car, but performance will be a little harder. The only cars I've really driven are the Mercedes S-class and Lexus GS so umm... yeah that's my comparison. lol

Wow, just 2 hours and I too can see the grin on your face. You describe that red on stone like it is a sexy beast on your driveway, you must be peeking out at it even now ... woot!

The passing power is something I liked hearing, sounds like this G s going to be awesome after break-in. Oh what fun it is to drive ...
