I would consider yourself lucky if you even know any slight information as to where your car is. As for me, I'm totally in the dark...all I got from my sales manager is "September" >_>

ask again if it's important to you as they have an online system which gives you those milestones.. has it been built, or in transit, or at port etc.. When i was looking to buy a bmw z4 a few years back i believe you had access to see your car being built at the factory via webcams.. now thats the kind of tracking i'm looking for!

All I know is that last Thursday, Bob told me that my car was "at port" and would be arriving at the dealership "in about a week". I'm still going to get it about 2 weeks before I thought I was, but the anticipation is absolutely killing me.

I went to Holman Infiniti's unveiling event last night and my salesman told me that my car is "due any day now" and that they actually thought it might be in today or tomorrow. Much sooner than my original 9/07 date. I can't wait either.

Well he did tell me that my car is a July production model. Other than those information, he doesn't know anything either. He said he'll call me when it is at port, which I assume hasn't happened yet.

How was the unveiling at Holman? Did they have additional cars and test drives?

I actually have to call my salesguy. I'm not sure if I'm getting the car anymore because I'm in NY 4 days a week and a new car at this time may be pointless, but would like to see it and test drive it when it comes in. That may be a bad thing though since I may just buy it anyway...lol.

You know, they did a really nice job... very classy and catered with lots of food and drinks (no alcohol)... tables with white tablecloths and roses on top. Some guy playing the piano with all of the sales people in suits and a big board of all of the cars with their options and the first names of everyone who they were sold to (nice to see people pointing to my car . They have apparently 22 or 24 cars coming (roughly), out of which about 75% were taken--50/50 split between 5AT and 6MT.

Everyone that came got a little gift bag with an Infiniti travel mug. They had 2 cars... one in the showroom and another available for people to test drive (just disappointing that the roads were wet). All in all, a very good job. Because of the timing, they even went ahead and ran my credit for approval and started the early termination last night because they expect it in so soon. The anticipation is killing me I just hope it's not raining when I take delivery.

It's kind of ironic. I can track a $5 package at ups or fedex and know exactly when it will arrive. But with a $40,000 car, they have no idea. Perhaps ups or fedex should get into the auto delivery business.

Wow, sounds like they did a good job! I couldn't make it. Did you get to test drive the car as well? Was it automatic or manual?

Sounds like you are going to get it in the next 10 days or so. When I was there a few weeks ago he said last week in August/1st week of September.

Ya I figured they weren't all spoken for, when the salesman "combed" the system looking for a model that had the options I wanted and it suddenly appeared unreserved!

Hey Chi-town, are you trading in another car? Hubby and I are still undecided whether we're trading in the "dog car" and want to see what kind of offer they'll give us. If you are trading in, did they give you a decent offer?
