but if one looks it from the moddin potential side of things, BMW is a much better way to go.. a chip, flash, and u have a beast in hand with the bmw.
to mod the G, it WILL cost you a kidney and and both nuts to make it perform close to a moded bmw..
once u start talking bout modding.. then warranty goes outta the window for both, it wouldnt matter anymore and both cars will be very expensive to fix anyways.

Both cars are great. No doubt about it. On the BMW forums, a couple of people have already driven the G37. One guy was floored by the car.

If I go with a G37, I want the following options: auto, premium, navigation. I am assuming this will come in just under 40k.

Now, if you price a BMW to get all of the same options that comes in those infiniti packages (some aren't even available) you will definitely see your BMW MSRP be 49k-51k.

As far as the free factory scheduled maintenance, Infiniti has the longer warranty so you need to consider that. Also the Infiniti dealer near my place offers a package with all of their vehicles that covers all scheduled maintenance up to 3 year 36k miles for free to all of their customers.

So no, for me price is not a wash at all... if it was I'd probably buy the BMW.
Also, you need to consider the lease factor (if that is what you are doing). One of the cars I am considering is the 335 sedan (It has grown on me and I actually like it alot now). Anyway, with tax, 1st payment, etc (no cap cost reductrion), you can get a fully loaded model for mid-500s as a 24 or 36 month lease. .00175 money factors and 71% residual on 24 month leases (15k/year), 74% (10k/year). That's for a $47,000+ car. The G sedan is probably about $30-$40 cheaper per month. The difference isn't huge. Yes, I've priced out both.

Coupe is another story. The 335 coupe is about $130 more per month than the sedan. Although, the G37 will probably command close to the same when it first comes out.

I'm thinking maybe a 2 year lease on the 335 and then see where the G37 prices are in a couple of years.

Good post Muscarel, it's good to hear some fair comments from BMW owners for a change. Only question I had was how did that guy get his hands on a G37 to test drive already. I didn't think demo's were arriving in dealerships until August.

I have to say I liked the Garnet Ember on the G sedan but I wouldn't have ordered it. I REALLY like the Vibrant Red on this coupe and I'd consider ordering it. Red is really nice to look at but I just don't care for it on my car.

IMO any car that does 0-60 in the mid 5 second range is fast enough... I don't see any reason to modify the performance of the car unless your a die hard racer who goes to the track every weekend, then it would make sense..

Well maybe add an exhaust to get that different sound, but that would be it

Well that's a sigh of relief, Vasiliy, considering you seemingly had your heart set on one, LOL

Better looking, better priced, what else have we got?

BMW 335 is faster, handles better, brakes better, better gas milage, better service(free), more trunk space, more interior space, better name plate and lighter weight.

but yeah, the G37 looks better and costs less.

Why do you think that the G37 will be close to that when it first comes out? I could see the MF being high, but the residual should start pretty high as well.

Close to $700/mo for the e92 335i is up there - my lease is ~480/mo for the G35 coupe with 0 down. I expect my G37 payment to be around 550/mo with 500 down and 15k/year.

Better looking inside and out, much better tech, more reliable, better warranty....

The G actually probably has the better handling, and the reviews haven't been consistent on the braking (some showing fade, some not)

but yeah, the 335i is about 3% faster and has sweet badges for $10,000....

But neither of us are biased either.....

True, IMO, to all of the above, but you can add "marginally" before all the comparatives ( faster, better, more, etc ) except for costs less, which makes up for the difference. I absolutely love my 335i coupe (former G35 coupe 6MT owner)and you guys will absolutely love your new G37. Have a blast! Can't wait to start meeting you guys at the traffic lights. My twin turbos are slightly tuned...
