Hill Assist?
when you learn how to control the clutch and gas pedals you can even make the car "hang" (staying put without the brakes) on a steep hill. I was all smiles the first time I was able to do it about 10 yrs ago! lol...
on a side note...sometimes I see some kid on a manual make their cars backup a little on purpose before going forward just to show everyone (or maybe just me) that they are driving manual. Where I come from we take pride when we accelerate without even backing up an inch even on hill!

if ur in a tight spot just use the ebrake....rev it up and u will feel it push either way...then just release ebrake. I did that once when i was in a drive way and was real close to the garage door..i didn't wanna rock forward at all

Honestly, the G37 is going to be a good mix of a drivers car, luxury, and style. 'Hill assist' sounds like something you'd see on a non-drivers car like a lexus or mercury. I don't see how you can appreciate the sportyness of this car when you want it to drive itself.

^+1 on all three of your last posts.
My youngest sister quickly burnt the clutch out of an old Maverick doing the "hang" thing everyday in downtown Halifax.
Some autos now have the hill assist too. My dads Frontier has it. Very neat feature backing up his steep driveway slowly, and stopping to try it.

Am I the only one who likes to show off rollin back and forth on hills with the 6MT? :\ Yeah I know its not good for the clutch but still... I love it when you go back n forth and the person behind you still creeps up closer on your ***
Hill assist, thats cute for women who drive stick I guess

Either way it is completely stupid and rediculous and I don't care if M cars have them. Typical that the nannies over at bmw would include that on their performance cars. Why do you want the car to drive itself yet buy the cars with the best driving dynamics?? LOL

aw come on man...its not like you're gonna do it every friggin time! besides I was just making a point that with enough experience you can have total control of the car.

SUVs had them to help with ascending and decending steep hills. We had those w. our early 2000 BMW X5. Now apparently it's trickled down to the 3-series and with MT. Cool!
