2011 vert issue, cant find any post with similar issue
I have a g37 vert
the top was working when I got it a couple months ago
I don’t use it much so I spent probably a month without using it and had a bunch of junk in my trunk I since than took out everything and tried to use the top it’s not working when I press the button the parcel goes up and down but it doesn’t seem to do any function past that when looking into what could potentially be causing a problem I noticed my flipper doors weren’t with the parcel so I go inspect and my flipper doors are stuck to the trunk door like locked in the position I imagine they go into when the top is dropped but they just stayed like that and never went back up. I know flipper gears are a common issue and that sometimes the flippers are left hanging but I’ve never seen a case where the flipper gets stuck on the trunk could this be what’s causing the function to not operate completely and how could I go about solving this issue ? Look at images for reference thank u for your time
That's normal for the flippers to be in that position when the top is close...It's not a gear problem!
When you press the top switch "down" there are the normal steps suppose to happend: All 4 windows goes down; the front top latches unlock; the shelf parcel goes in vertical position and then goes down; trunk lid open backward; flippers deploy; top start to fold in the trunk area; shelf parcel goes up and return to it's horizontal position; trunk lid close and lock in place.
As the front latch are electric...it's possible that you got a n hydraulic pump failure...that pump operate the trunk lid and top panels....Tht's probably it stop just after the parcel goes up...
You can check with Klaus from "TopHydraulics" or check clip on Youtube about that topic....Whish it can help some way!?
I watched this video and found it very intriguing. This is from Klaus at Top Hydraulics and shows how to manually open the top. He also had a video on how to close it. He's actually got a few good videos on how to fix the hydraulics on the top
