If I buy out-of-state, how do I know car will pass California smog test?

I liv in California. If I buy a G#& out-of-state, how do I know car will pass California smog test?

(I'm looking fr a red one with tan interior. They are hard to find in CA (or anywhere)

You can pay for PDI and have an emissions test done in the state where the car is at. Check the results against Cali standards and you'll be able to determine if it's able to pass.
