Hello.
the defroster has begun separating from the rear windshield. It's still working well enough, but I'd like to fix it if possible before it gets much worse.
Does anyone know if there's a way to repair it without having to replace the whole thing?
Thanks.
Thanks for identifying the actual problem. The tint is the original so it's about 10 years old. I wonder if it's best to have it just replaced, or if there's some way to re-adhere it, perhaps by applying heat?
Do some research for a local tint shop. You're in Mass, so you should have lots of options. Most tint shops are really professional and skilled. It might not seem like rocket science, but there is a skill to doing this, and it's all the shop does every day. And if a shop does the work, they'll guarantee the defogger won't be damaged.

It shouldn't look like that in 10 years if it's OEM. From factory glass is usually tinted internally instead of a film. It won't be able to be reattached unfortunately, as Rochester says you'll want a shop to redo it. It would probably be cheaper than you'd expect too.
