I want my mirrors to fold when locking the car
Hello,
Last time, you helped me a lot, so I try again for another advice.
My exterior mirrors are folding electrically. I'm asking myself if it's folding automatically when we close the car ?
I didn't find anything about this in the owner's manual.
Can you tell me if it's possible please ?
Thx

You want the mirrors to fold automatically when you LOCK the doors? Yes, it is possible as that is what I have on my car. When I press the LOCK button the mirrors automatically fold and then when I start the car they automatically extend. I only use the button to fold when I am going through a drive-thru or my bank's drive-up ATM.
Nissan sells the "Auto Fold" module: p/n: B5570-1VA0A, ≈$60USD. There are also several kits available on eBay and other online sellers. A simple google search should yield some good options for you. Keep in mind, with the OEM module, the installation instructions are horrible to read. Not only is the module not "plug-and-play," but the instructions are in Japanese and reference different schematics that are not accessible to customers. Added to that, I have a Coupe, not a 'Vert, so there were some minor wiring differences. In other words, install at your own risk or know of a good mechanic with electric skills. Of all the modifications I have done to my car, installing this module was the most trying. Worth it, but a struggle figuring it out.
You may also want to read through this thread as it shows how technical, and aggravating, the wiring can be.
Hope this helps.
P.S. If you come across a bottle of 'Baron Gaston Legrand Bas Armagnac Elusa 1964,'for sale, PLEASE let me know... that bottle has been eluding me for quite a while, lol.

Thank you ILM-NC G37S !
I don't want to go on an adventure with that. It will stay like that for the moment.
My electrical skills are not good enough and I find the price a bit high just for a (little) additional function.
Sorry for the Armagnac, but I don't have that in my cellar !
Have a nice day !

I would suggest you check with a local car stereo/ electronics shop and see what they might offer/ suggest. Many of those places have "universal" kits that can be installed. Like I said before, the install was aggravating- especially for such a little extra feature- but it adds a little peace of mind knowing the mirrors are stored when I lock the car. I never understood why this feature was not automatically included with these cars.
As such, I would NOT recommend the OEM module. The install was not easy. You have to know what wires go where and the OEM kit doesn't specify which. Important to note, the 'Vert was not available in Japan so accessories, like the auto fold, were never available let alone supporting documentation.
re: Armagnac, if you ever come across a bottle or know a merchant that has one....

In the US, only the 'Verts have the power folds. Being the 'Vert and the Coupe are nearly identical, they are interchangeable, however, those mirrors will not fit on the sedan.

Two mirrors, a switch, and some wiring... done. The auto fold module- depending on where you get it- can be more of a PITA to install than the whole project itself...
There are a few of us that did the mod. Easy for the Coupes. Been so long I can not remember when I did it. Problem is that the parts are not available for the sedan unless you get them imported from a wrecking yard in Japan. Doable but not cost effective for many.

Hard NO! It's been tried and they will not mount to the G37 door frame linky
Japan had the G37 Coupe and sedan (badged the (Nissan 'Skyline' 370GT (V36 platform)). They did NOT have the 'Vert.
I doubt you will find new parts and even if available they would cost most than any sane individual would want to pay just for the power fold option. That said, Amayama shows, new, not including shipping and import duty/ tariff/ tax/ whatever the hell it is this week, fees:
(L/ Driver) 96302-1NC1B- roughly $650.00
(R/ Pass) 96301-1NC1A- roughly $250.00
This is assuming the parts are available. As always, verify against your VIN before buying anything.
Used is a lot easier and cheaper. I just did a quick search at Yahoo Auctions and a ton pop up. Some complete sets are less than $100. If you're lucky in your search you will find a set that already has the LED "winkers" attached- though they are hard to come by. In the past I have used Yahoo auctions to locate parts and then I would have From Japan, a proxy service, to handle the purchasing and shipping. On occasion, some of these JDM parts pop p on eBay but I have found those items to be severely overpriced.
None of this accounts the cost for the switch ≈$75-100., the auto fold module (tons on eBay (I used Nissan OEM (≈$85 back then), and labour.

The module is what handles the "auto fold/ unfold" operation. Whether you use the OEM kit or some aftermarket eBay deal they all work the same way.
