G37 Vert Paddle Shifter
G37 Vert Paddle Shifter
So I sourced paddle shifters after skewing the internet for some time. I was excited to put them in seemed like a simple setup. I take off the plastic shrouds get to the wiring went to look for the taped down harnesses and to my surprise none there. I had to take a triple look to assure myself I was not going crazy. Anyone experience this? I have as 2010 G Convertible. I believe it is a base model.
Are they just in a different spot on the convertibles or did they just not put them in these glorious vehicles. Ive been learning more and more that the coupe/vert has many similarities but the differences while minimal are just a total pain in the rear.
Any help on this would be great.

I would quadruple check to make sure they are not tucked away. Look for any thick foam pieces. Unused connectors are VERY well hidden. Keep it mind that it is possible your 'vert was not pre-wired as it is a base model.
This does not mean you can not add the paddles, but it becomes a more labor intensive job.

this is what I got i honestly don’t think they’re pre wired. would you happen to know how to wire it up if they’re not there ?

sorry for the double post but i did see you helped out someone else with my issue earlier in the year. I have no problem doing the wiring but I was curious to see if you knew where I would be able to buy the harness so that i could just splice it and route it directly to the correct pins.
I just checked and you're in luck. The Q50 harness I have has the paddle connectors. I will leave it up to you if you rather try the junkyard first as that is local to you or I can send them to you. Just PM me when you decide.
Keep in mind you will still have to splice in some wire between the two pigtails and where you will tap the two wires at the AC Amplifier in the center console.
Ironic... you're in the process of adding the paddles and I'm in the process of removing them...

I will pm you now
I have the paddles to the left and right of my steering wheel and I am not sure when I should use them. I tapped them and it made the car drive funny. Just got the car less than a month ago, still learning everything. Sorry in advance.
going to learn with you once I wire them up !
