New G37 Vert Owner

Hello Everyone,

I had been looking into a new vehicle for a bit now and decided on a G37. I searched for almost three months and became really drawn to the convertibles (as I've owned a few different convertible vehicles in my life's time so far) but they were really hard to find in 6 speed manual . . .

till one day this popped up

I had a Nissan Dealership inspect it since it was 435 miles from me and everything checked out.
I slept on it, then drove 435 miles one way to pick the car up . . .

The G came with BC racing Coils, these wheels that are kind of growing on me and an axle back exhaust that's burning the rear bumper.
Not sure if because cheap exhaust or Horrible installation but looks like probably both.
I'm looking for that to be the first thing to go soon as i can scrap up funds for a decent exhaust, hoping i can make the Invidia Q300 Sedan Exhaust fit along with ISR HFCs and some headers..... but i might just stop at the HFCs.
I ordered a Vert Spoiler already and hope to add some more subtle touches to the exterior with time but overall I love how it looks now.
I'll daily this so probably will need to raise it a bit because the freeways are rough.

Here's a pic I took of it hours from when I bought it, I stayed in Petaluma overnight and found this nice picture spot near by the hotel I was staying at.

The Vert looks so good with the top up and the sport bumber. Wheels and stance on that car look fantastic. Nice find.

Thank you, I agree there's something about the slenderness of the vert top and the wideness of the sport bumper that is very appealing. About the stance I"m trying to figure out if the car has the rear SPC bolts for better adjustment. From the rear view of the car it seems to have a lot of negative camber but it could just be my inexperienced eyes. would there be any markings on the bolts that differentiate from the original stock bolts? There's also been a weird clicking coming from the rear left wheel that I just started hearing doesn't sound like something to serious as in wheel bearing noise more like a soft clicking after the wheel completes one revolution and its predominant at a slow creep only other thing that's been bothersome is the Bluetooth connection will sometimes go in and out. Minor things I hope to correct in the near future any insight is appreciated.

So I figured out I had stock bolts and finally got around to correcting the suspension on my G37 vert that’s lowered on BC coils. Convertible G37s have a different rear suspension set up than coupes and sedans which don’t give us access to any rear adjustable arms. My rear toe and camber was never able to be corrected so I was going through tires fast with that horrible inner wear. The only solution offered on the market for this issue are the SPC 350z/G35 rear camber/toe alignment bolts and they’ve worked out perfectly. 👍🏼

I removed that tab sticking out on the subframe in case I wanna run more aggressive tires in the future.

Shout out to Andy’s Alignment located in Burbank, California. They have lowered friendly alignments at an unbeatable rate for sure.

Also got around to getting the brakes painted to match the soul function strut bar I'm impatiently waiting on.

That's an interesting choice of the caliper paint color - definitely stands out.

Maintenance work on this thing.

Replaced air filter cleaned MAF sensors and throttle bodies which were crazy dirty.

Replaced ignition coils and spark plugs.

Ignition coils had visible differences but worked out.

The middle coil on the passenger side had oil and the driver side mid and back coil had some oil too so I guess gasket changes coming soon. No oil on spark plugs though, they all looked visibly well.

I was also able to add a hotchkis front sway bar to stiffen up the front a bit more.

Then topped the night off with the aluminum heat shield from Z speed. The zerk fittings and shield seemed like a tight fit but hopefully not. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Well done! you got a great find and making some appropriate upgrades to the Vert. I often wish i had the Vert b/c top down driving in that car is incredible.

Id highly suggest you get a wind deflector for behind the seats. You wont be disappointed. This is one upgrade that allows you to drive topless at 70MPH at 50 degrees with no cabin wind.
