Trunk has a Gap

I noticed a couple of days ago that passenger side of my trunk has a bigger gap near the body (where the clear film protects the paint). The big gap is at the top passenger side corner of the trunk but the bottom part of the trunk has like no gap at all and it's higher on the driver side bottom part of trunk. It's like the trunk is shifted more to the passenger side top corner. The convertible still works but I'm a bit concerned that this could become a problem in the future so any suggestions or help resolving this would be appreciated. Thank you.

it wasnt in an accident. I held open the the trunk from the drivers side when it was closing because i didnt want it to slam so the passenger side was basically closed and i was still holding open the drivers side a bit. Very dumb of me.
