Hi. There are round rubber bumpers on the arms of my ‘12 g37 convertible. One of them is disintegrating and the dealer says that they are not sold separately from the $6karm assembly. What are they and how would I replace one? Thanks in advance! What is this bumper plug Calle and how do I get a new one without replacing the whole arm?
i took some duct tape, made a ball out of it, and made it into a cylinder so it sticks out the same amount as the other side, then taped it to the arm. so it acts like a bumper and retracts normally.
weird this has to be the third thread posted about this little rubber piece falling apart in the last few months...looks like they're reaching an end of life/deterioration point for a bunch of verts
I confirmed with multiple dealerships that this rubber bumper cannot be purchased. It is part of the arm mechanism that costs thousands. Good news is that you can get 1” solid tube rubber on Amazon and, with some care, cut it down to size.
I saw several threads about this, so I checked the state of my rubber bumpers. They were disintegrating! I saw Paul Prachyl's post on the other thread from about a week ago, and headed down to Home Depot. I put them in last night. I had my wife open the top this morning while I watched the bumpers. They worked great! THANKS PAUL!!
Here are some pics: Original bumper. It crumbles into powder if you handle it. These are the two original bumpers after removal. They are falling apart. This is one of the new bumpers installed.
I have the same problem and will use the HD part as suggested.
I also have the two Hydraulic Pump Rubber Bumpers deteriorating, the round ones on the trunk floor. Any suggestion for replacing those? Don't want to spend $93.00 each from Infinity.
The part from Infinity is 97039JJ50A OEM Hydraulic Pump Rubber Bumper

Hi. This is my problem!! So if I buy the stoppers at Home Depot how are they installed. Do you scoop out the old rubber piece and glue it in or other process?? Thanks much. Gary
