swapping newer AV unit into 09 for bluetooth audio?
has anyone tried swapping out the telephone module, or AV unit from a newer vert into an 09 to get bluetooth audio?? i would imagine it should work?
there are a few options on ebay for <$100. which is the price for a standard blueooth 30pin adapter... just curious is anyone attempted this??

The search function is your friend. There are plenty of threads on this swap.
Can it be done? Yes.
Is it plug-and-play? No.
Is it worth it to just add bluetooth? Not in my opinion.
If you have electronics skills/experience then it is a project to consider. It is not a hard project but it can get VERY tedious. I did it (2008 to 2014) for the USB function and for the newer/cleaner display and interface. I just load up a thumb drive with plenty of mp3/mp4 files and call it a day.

The premise and procedure is the same whether you are upgrading your existing setup or swapping systems. To upgrade to 2010-2015 systems you will have some wiring to contend with: NAV or not.
I just did a cursory check of the AV FSM's for both the '09 and '10 'verts (I have them from a recently completed headrest project). There is still some wiring that will have to be changed. The links you found will give you a general idea of what is all involved. Under no conditions is the upgrade plug-and-play.
Most of us who have done the swap upgraded to NAV as it is a lot easier and much less wiring than having to deal with all the extra "modules."
