Warranty - to be or not to be?
#17
Well I guess the answer to my original questions is "to be". I heard back from Courtney at Infiniti of Scottsdale today (she had been on vacation) and she quoted a 60mo (from date I buy the warranty) 60K Elite Protection Plan for $1,400 if I pay up front. My local dealer quoted $2,250 for the same deal. I'll have to take it in to the dealer to get it inspected before the warranty will be issued but it should pass just fine. Seems like a no brainer to part with the $ for 5 years peace of mind.

FYI, my dealer matched the price I got from Scottsdale and waived the inspection.

Local dealer here wouldn't touch the price I got from Circle Infiniti (NJ). They came in at a good 150% higher or more. This was sometime in the fall. I was getting new tires in the spring and needed an alignment. Decided to let the dealership do it (they mailed a flyer for a $100 alignment). Part of it was a 'vehicle inspection'. Circle accepted this as meeting their inspection requirements. IIRC it was something like $2100 for 8yr/100K miles from date of warranty purchase.
