Pre-owned IPL convertible. Dealer won't warranty leather seat!

I"ve had it for a week, took it to get MD inspected and asked them to look at 2 issues. The first one they are replacing the passenger kick plate and the second issue is the drivers bolster has a scuff on the piping. I asked the service rep and he said they won't warranty it because the previous owner wasnt careful getting in and out. I mentioned several owners have had to have it replaced under warranty since it was abnormal wear. It didn't even phase him. Should I take it to another dealer or call customer service? Or is there a way to cover it or touch it up that wont peel later?

Try calling another dealer and if that doesn't work call customer service bc I've read from many people on this forum that thry got there's covered over warranty. Good luck

Don't go in and quote the internet. It's like going to your doctor and argue about what you found on webmd. Wear items like seats are subjective to opinion. It's totally up the rep if he/she wants to go the extra mile for you. That said... try another dealer.

Let me make sure I'm reading this right. You bought a used car and are upset it's used?

These blemishes were obviously present when you inspected and purchased the car. If they were so alarming, you should have negotiated them into the deal, looked at a better kept used car, or looked at a new car. You can't expect to pay used car money and have the dealership cover wear and tear to bring the car back to new condition.

Sorry if that's not what you want to hear...

My best advice is to take it to a place that specializes in leather repair and get their opinion.

Car was negotiated and very clean with low mileage. Seat isn't bad but I had the same issue on my QX and it was replaced when I bought it new. Nissan/ infiniti leather is not that high of quality. It is something I can live with definately but the car IS under warranty. Rest of the seat is fine ! I got a great price on it!

I agree, you want Infiniti to spend money to replace your seat because of some wear on a car you didn't even buy new? I don't see why that would be warranty at all personally.

If other dealers refuse to fix it, try restoring it with leatherique when it gets warmer. You might as well learn something from the issues with your car that you can apply in the future.

I understand the car is under warranty. Wear and tear is not covered under the warranty. Hopefully you find a dealer willing to go the extra mile.

I bought a used IPL vert and it had a scratch on the seat too. The car only had 13k miles. The dealer did have thier person cover over the scratches i think with a fabric paint. You cant tell and maybe that is an option for u. As much as i wanted everything as new the car wasnt even with just 13k miles. I love the car now as much as if i had it from new.

I just had that done last week, it looked like it was brand new!!! After looking at what was involved I decided not to pursue a replacement especially if the covers don't match. Tech who did it said any issues call him but he said it will last years even if you rub on it. Thanks!!!
