Newbie - Changing wipers myself or dealer?
My G37 vert's wiper blades are not working properly. They basically don't clean properly. so I am thinking of getting new ones.
Now given my less knowledge about cars, I don't know if wipers are the problem or something else can also be the issue like something that holds wipers? Car is 3 years old, so might be the wipers. I bought it second hand.
I see that dealers charge $70 for wipers while online their cost is something around $15. I was thinking, maybe I should buy online and try replacing on my own. But I have never done it so don't know how easy or hard it is. or should I just take it to dealer and let him figure out the problem.
Also any recommendation on wipers for 2010 virt? What is the standard size of them?

Really? Go to Advanced Auto or Auto zone and get the Bosch Latitude blades. (NOT RAIN-X) Follow the directions or ask one of their customer service guys to do it for you.... Should run you $30-$40.

Good price for OEM blades at Sewell Infiniti:
2011 G37 Sedan: Wiper Blade - FLAT BLADE - Revolutionary Wiping Technology Continuous pressure distribution Optimum visibility Low noise and vibrationContinuous Pressure Distribution Across Flat Wiper Blade Vs. 4 to 8 pressure points (as on a convent
They give forum members a discount, when you create an account, it'll ask you for forum id.
It takes about 25 seconds to change these.
(coupe blades may be different size than sedan - make sure you choose the right car)

If you can brush your teeth you can change your wiper blades. It is extremely easy, any novice can do it in less than 5 minutes. Go to a parts store or online parts site and grab a nice aftermarket set, like Bosch Icons which look like the OEM setup.
And yes, it's the same for rain sensing. That has no bearing on the style of blade. Just more electronic crap to break one day...

I see several owners recommending Bosch but that has not been my experience. On three occasions I have put Bosh on one side and another brand on the other and Bosch has always worn out and streaked first. This includes the $4.50 Walmart brand. I am not sold but this is just my experience.
