Are there any "FREE" DIY upgrades..

The last few cars I have had owners have found little tricks, an example I had an 07 Z06, and If you pulled Fuse #10 the electronic exhaust valves would be 100% open all the time...

anything with the G37S convertible?

Nope, there's not much performance wise that you can do that won't cost you.
There's a few clutch modifications that are free, or really close to it, but that won't get you mroe power or anything like that. And you have to have a manual tranny.
