Just in case you wanted to start the conversion to the monaco red interior. My door panels are getting replaced under warranty but they can only replace the same color.

I like where you are headed. May I suggest that you visit a local auto upholstry shop and inquire about adding some custom red accents to your exisitng seat & door surfaces. I am sure that you will find that you can better match the VR color and (if you are just doing accents), it will be less expensive than you think.

Keep us posted!

Monaco red is darker than VR, and does not match it (I don't think that it was their intent to make it VR).

I hate to break it to you, but all the door panels in any color cost $1500, not just the Monaco Red ones.

I would go to an interior upholster guy and you will be surprised what $3K will get you and it won't be just door panels...

I wouldn't think the dealer would care which color door panel you put in there since the all cost the same. Maybe they don't want you coming back in the future saying, "you guys gave me the wrong replacement color". All the dealer has to do is note that the customer wants Monaco Red rather than original color in your file, you could get the color you want. I like how you are thinking though.

That's what I was thinking too. Unfortunately my parts arrived today, so one process issue was they would have to request the warranty part again. Additionally it was noted that infiniti wants the original part replaced. So I'm not sure if its checked by vin which determines the replacment part that can be ordered under warranty for the specific vehicle model.

However maybe someone else can try the same maybe if they pursue it further.

For what it is worth warranty claims are processed by vin number and in order for a dealer to be reimbursed by the manufacturer they must replace it with the original part. Also dealers are required to maintain the parts that were replaced for audit purposes. Can a dealer do it? Yes but the chance they may have to lose the claim with the factory is what holds most back.

Dinged lower panels, when the seatbelt did not retract fully in a nutshell.
They did not replace the door handle trim though just the damaged lower panels and the seatbelt mechanisms on both sides. It's a night and day difference.

Can you send me a copy of your service invioce for seatbelt fix. I got door dings and my rear seat panel on the edge is also ripped from seatbelt not retracting. My dealer says they are ordering new driver side door panel and seatbelt but I showed them rip inseat back and manager says he doesnt think they will replace that or my passenger side seatbelt. I got no ding in that door yet cause I usually drive car myself. Any help would be appreciated. Thx.

You may have to call customer care and have pictures to email them if they open a case or you. I did not have any rips on the rear seat panel though. They should replacement the door panels and seatbelt mechanism on both sides.
