Can you point me in the right direction? I want to read the clause about racing but I don't know where to find it.

As the vehicle owner, you should also be aware that Nissan may deny you warranty coverage if your vehicle or a part has failed due to abuse, neglect, improper maintenance or unapproved modifications.

Also, FWIW, you need to check with your insurance policy as well for any coverage when using the car at any type of track. Usually, timed-events disqualify you whereas non-timed events like HPDE or classes are okay. For timed-events, the track you're on will usually offer coverage for that day, for a minimal fee.

I have an '08 models so I looked in the warranty information booklet from that year, soundmike linked to them if you don't have it downloaded already.

From page 6:
WHAT IS NOT COVERED
DAMAGE, FAILURES OR CORROSION DUE TO ACCIDENTS,
MISUSE OR ALTERATIONS
This warranty does not cover damage, failures or
corrosion resulting from:
• Accident, theft, fire, driving through water
(including engine water ingestion) or misuse,
which includes, but is not limited to, racing of any
sort whatsoever. (Proper use is outlined in your
OWNER’S MANUAL.)
• Alteration, tampering or improper repair.
• Installation of non-Nissan approved accessories
or components.
• Improper installation of any Nissan approved or
aftermarket accessory or component.
• Glass breakage, unless resulting from defects in
material or workmanship.
• Normal wear and tear, including dings, dents,
chips or scratches.
There's also several references in the tire warranty sections of each manufacturer and the final reference on page 47. You can do a find for the word "racing" to see them all.

Yes, the dealer has no incentive to turn the warranty work away. Most likely, NNA was consulted and NNA decided to turn down the work; that is the case with most of the local nissan/infiniti dealers when they're not sure if the work will be reimbursed.
The dealer DOES have incentive to turn work away because if they perform the work and the manufacturer doesn't approve...they DO NOT GET PAID.

Plus all that counts in surveys and such.

So don't do the work until it's approved. Cover your bases.
