So putting in a 2.0T is competing with the Sonata? Not the BMW 328, Audi A4, Cadillac ATS, Mercedes-Benz C300....

If you want to compete with the Joneses, first you need to keep up with them.

it's going to be a 2.0T shared with the Benz C class. Let's see how it performs first for gas mileage purposes

Kinda my sentiments..... Meh it's funny how people want to compare this to the A5,....,...., etc.
No 4DSC designation for this new model.

Cars in most other countries, especially in Asia, have huge importation taxes, along the lines of 100%, and engine displacement taxes, that increase exponentially with the displacement. Its a kind of luxury tax, and a method to control pollution and increase gas savings.

Yes, Infiniti should stick to targeting the niche market of enthusiasts and sink like so many....Saab, etc.
The R&D investment of developing a new motor platform is far more expensive than paying to use someone else's design. It makes complete sense to me.
Let's face it, I bet an overwhelming percentage of G37 owners don't care about what's under the hood as long as it provides decent power and economy.
I am more than certain Infiniti has analyzed the demographic of the G37 buyers and this move will definitely yield more profits, despite of loosing the market of enthusiast.
