Infiniti not sure if the want to TT the new IPL or just up the power*

I just recently spent $13k at GTM to TT my 2012 IPL so when I got a satisfaction survey I thought I would leave some "feedback"

At first the survey asked the normal questions (why I purchased, what other cars considered, etc.)

Then I got the following questions:

Hmm, M3 competition?

And then this!

Whoa! Now we're talking (but oh the price????)

What is next? A faster naturally aspirated IPL or a luxury GTR?*

Personally I would like a $75k TT IPL!

I personally think to stay competitive they should produce a 400 hp IPL for the current price, around 75K for a TT would be a deal, but it sounds like they are looking at it being around 100k. Then I am not so sure I wouldn't jump to a GT-R instead.

I'd definitely like to see a 400hp G and a 600hp High End super car (GTR platform maybe?)

I would love to see a IPL Sedan. This would compete with F Series Lexus G, M3 Sedans, Caddys, Etc.

But I agree with the coupe. They should come out with a GTR platform Infiniti.

There was an article though, that Infinti did trademark some new models with the letter 'T' in it.

The second option sounds to clearly be a GTR variant with refreshed body panels and Infiniti IPL badges slapped on it. It wouldn't make sense financially to reinvent the wheel when you already have something that people want and you could simply add some luxury refinements and increase your profit margin per unit.

I'd be more likely to go for option 1. Sounds like it would be built/marketed as a direct M3 competitor.

I wouldn't mind the 400HP. I might jump on that. 600HP for that 100k is too much. Plus if you do up grades to the 400, you will get some more gains on that.

The vast majority of luxury car owners do not want to and will not mod their cars. You have to realize that we are not their core customer, we are something of an aberration. Most buyers wouldn't mod a 400 HP car. But of course some of us still would anyway.

$100K for an AWD 600HP car is not even close to being too much (for the market in general, not your individual pocketbook). The GTR is one of the greatest bargains in high performance cars to come around in a very long time. It currently makes 545 HP and costs just under $100K.

Or you can spend $15k on your G and make 600hp.
Thats money we'll spent!

Very true. What I'm saying is that spending more money to make extra power and modding the car isn't foreign to us at all, to a smaller or greater degree. But enthusiasts and modders like you'll find on this forum are a very small percentage of owners in general and certainly not who the car is marketed toward. Heck, there's even a contingent who are on this forum who are into cars but are still are dead set against modding anything.

We are the 1%.

That is something most people on here do not realize. The amount of people who modify these cars is few.

400HP at $60K would be the sweet spot for a halo car.

If they build a GTR level Infiniti- perhaps they just might want to consider ending the Nissan variant and reintroducing it as an Infiniti in the next generation- otherwise they might cannibalize their sales.

60K for 400HP IPL G is a fantastic option Vs. 335i & is/S5/M3/ISF/C63 AMG. I love Infiniti too much and would not pass this up. I would purchase one I hope this happens...

For 100K I would look at other options.
