New tires
I ordered my Goodyear Eagle F1 Gs-D3s on Thursday through Florida Tire, located on Semoran Blvd. I talked to a guy named Brian on the phone. He was really nice and was able to closely price match Tirerack's price. With shipping from Tirerack, my tires were $1032. Brian was able to get them for $1050. I figured this was a fair price since I wouldn't have to rely on shipping. They should be here today.
Anyways, my question to you all. Are these prices fair? Or does anyone recommend another place in Orlando for mount/balance and alignment?
He said that since the tires have a reverse lip, that he would have to charge me $25 a tire (instead of $20) for mount/balance. He also quoted me $60 to have my car aligned. That's an extra $160. After taxes and all, the cost is close to $1300 (I just realized the $1050 for tires didn't include taxes and I should have ordered them through Tirerack....F***, I'm pissed
)

Why do you need your car aligned after getting new tires. I have never heard of that.
I got my tires shipped from Tirerack to a local chop that did the mount and balance for $15 each.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Gs-D3s come out number one in many online reports. Here's a link to a Car and Driver report where they came in number one.

I've been thinking about getting them too. I'm glad to see Ryan getting a set. I think they'r e the most aggressive tire available, plus they're highly rated in the wet and dry... what's not to like?

I have never heard anyone charging more for a reverse mount rim. That only means that they break the bead of the tire in the back rather than the normal front. Then mount it starting in the back rather the front of the rim. I have been in that part of the business before and unless things have changed that is news to me.

I actually didn't they were closed for something. I did get the headers on though and oh yeah, the HKS has got louder and louder as I drive. I will probably be going out again this Friday to see what difference they made. I will probably be going again next week because my buddy and I just put a Comptech supercharger on his CL-S. He makes me want to go FI!! Let me know if you can make it Friday.
