After such a killer meet... where do we go from here?

I'm kind of wondering what we should be doing next...

Part of me wants to focus on the CFL chapter a little bit and reorganize our once tight nit local group.

May I suggest you guys PM your local Chapter Board of Directors. Encourage them to plan local monthly meets in your areas and request that the BOD's spend the clubs money PAYING for some of the things at your local meets.

BTW... the BOD's are:

MIA_G35 - SFL
Finiti35 - SFL
Escobar929 - SFL

G8tor20 - NFL

SFLG35 - CFL (and WFL)
Dabomb - CFL
Neffster - CFL and NFL surrogate (for the time being)

If anyone has any serious suggestions of things they'd like to see and help plan, speak up. BTW, autocrosses or track events are not allowed under our clubs insurance.

We should invade Key West or South Beach or Clearwater Beach. That would be fun.

We could hide various prizes throughout Lokey Infiniti's fleet of cars and have everyone go run out and find them!

That was a joke.

I do think however that stopping by the side of the clearwater causeway and taking some group pictures would be nice provided that the weather is good.

We definitely need to strengthen the Northern Florida presence. I'm always up for a local meet, but our numbers are really thinning out. Russ (Meatshackle) is moving and Doug (speedeezx) is looking at trading the G for a different car.

Whenever I have them on me, I place our club cards on G's that have rims or clears on them but no one has come forward. One time I pulled out of my own neighborhood behind a silver coupe with rims. Got next to him at a light and he wouldn't even look at me... must be too ... I used to see a white 6mt with all sorts of nismo stuff on it but never got a chance to talk to him/her.

I know there's gotta be more G enthusiasts up here... Gainesville? Lake City?

Yeah...there are some of us in the Gainesville area (i'm in ocala). The gainesville folks hang out with other car clubs on some random nights. I'm probably gonna head up to the next one. Should be fun.

With what Todd posted at the bottom of the first post, how would we be able to do the Gainseville idea?

Jamaica2G and I are up here in Gainesville, there is another guy with a black coupe with black 20s, but he seems to have vanished in the past few months. There are 3 main car clubs here with their own different type of personalities, but definately not enough (modded) Gs to really have a G only meet. http://www.rev-motorsports.com http://www.intmo.com http://www.gainesvilleracing.com

I was chapter prez for a lincoln club and found North and NW Florida tough to energize. Populatio density wasnt so much the problem as it was trying to find POI's that stand out enough to get people to come. Plus for anyone west of Tally the drive becomes an issue.

I was stuned to learn the Linton came all the way up from homestead.I think it will take getting central and sw fl along with the motivated local members participation to getting thinsg stirred up.

Maybe a few good one tank trips with some photo ops or a group project of helping a member(s) out with mods. Nothing like teaching other folks how todo something on their own to get folks together.

meets

I keep threatening to have a ride and meet and invade a car club in the Julington Creek area. The few times I have seen the meet, I was the only G there. A couple of Z's, no G's. Thought we could cruise through some twisty S curves before the invasion. I travel for work frequently and the weekends are usually tied up with kids stuff (soccer, swimming, etc.) so I haven't been able to make it work yet. Just my $0.02.

so sad... so true... at least the Nissans seem to stick together though! hehehe

A St. Augustine meet would be pimp, but I know some of the guys might go nuts w/cleaning after driving their cars on the beach - or while there, the wouldn't be able to put the cleaning cloth down and actually relax. hahaha

Good idea, Todd!

It's been a while since the WFL gang had a mini-meet. Maybe we could get together before Christmas. We could use a small amount of BOD money for appetizers... that might lure a few more people in.

Daniel, when are you done with Finals?
