I filed a claim less than an hour after the storm went over, and have an appointment for Sat evening with an adjuster. I just need to find a couple quotes for the repairs so I dont get low balled.

Good idea to head north Neff, but I couldnt even make it to work yesterday cuz of the whole gas problem

Fortunately my car was in the garage also. But my house and neighborhood took a beating. So much devastation down here it was crazy. During the eye wall my dad and i had to hold our sliding glass doors from blowing into the house for 2 hrs. It was intense. After the storm we went for a drive to check out the neighborhood and i snapped some pictures. An enormous palm tree was laying on this guys Pacifica slammed the car to the ground and blew all the windows out. He told me he would give me a good deal on the car. My power wont be back until Nov. 22 latest. I am in aventura in a hotel temporarily. When i get home and settled again i will upload some pics.

EQUATE, Welcome to our forum. Thankfully you're more worried about 1000 miles on your G than anything else right now. This is probably a blessing in disguise considering what 'could have' happened.

Still no power here, should get it back by Nov 13 which means another 2 weeks in the dark Luckily the county library reopened today so I can at least pay my bills online ... My mom's car took a beating too, but I saw much worse than that. A crane collapsed in front of the Westin Diplomat on A1A so the road was closed in both directions... 4 power posts fell across my friend's dead-end street so he can't move his car or go anywhere now. Hope you guys are doing okay. Man, I'd hate this hurricane to mess up the plans for a caravan to the meet :\

I'm glad you're safe, Finiti!

I lost power for a week after Francis ran past St. Petersburg last year. I didn't realize how dependant on electrical power I had become. Little things like changing flashlight batteries in the dark... annoying... I kept thinking that my power would come back on every day... and it didn't until 96% of Pinellas County had their power restored... I feel for you... hopefully you have a friend that you can stay with until your power is restored.

Go buy the TOP OF THE LINE PC! Trust me. Check your insurance policy. *IF* you have 'full replacement value' for all items damaged they will pay for you to get a new PC.

I had an electrical spike during Charley or Francis and it Fried several electrical componenet including my dryer. I went out and bought a cheap $400 dryer and the insurance adjustor told me that I should have gotten a $1000 top of the line model. He said it would have been free... live and learn.

Remember, you have a deductible and the adjustors usually give you some leeway in times like this.

It would have been free? I was told not to bother with insurance since my deductible is higher than what a new computer will cost me anyway, plus increased premiums after that, etc
