i need new pads and rotors

well now that my car has 37k on it i can no longer get free brakes.
so i need to get some new pads and rotors for my non brembo car. every one seems to like the hawk pads so i figured i would give those a try and see how they work. does anyone know the size for non brembos?? what are some good rotors to get? i def dont want drilled rotors cause they tend to crack a lot. so i am mainly looking for slotted ones. anyone got any ideas? lookin to stay close or under 550 cause that is what they cost at the dealer.

thanks

Dan, Here's what I think...

1. you don't track your car so the SS lines aren't needed.
2. call John and see what the OEM rotors go for.
3. call John and ask about their slotted rotor selection. (he told me that they can get aftermarket rotors both drilled and slotted for a very good price)

If John's price is better than Performance Nissans (don't forget that shipping will be expensive for 4 heavy rotors, fluids and SS lines from Cali.) then go with John.

If it helps i found Brembo drilled or slotted rotors for 310 a pair plus $16 flat rate shipping from Lil Devil Motorsports.

I also picked up Project Mu NS pads which are a god send from Project Nissan for about 140 shipped front n rear. They were the cheapest for teh project Mu and these pads are friggin awesome!!! The rotors are mainly for looks and if you dont track you'll be fine with Cross Drilled. The pads don't put out half the dust of the stock pads, stop as good as my brembo pads that came stock and what little dust they give off is silver not black/rust colored so you really don't notice it! I really like them! No squeeks. I have heard peeps complain of squeeking with the hawks.

+1 on the link. I'm about 5,000 miles away from needing what you just posted. Only thing I've heard is that the cross drilled rotors will rust inside of the holes. This rust eventually leads to crack propigation and premature rotor failure. I really like the way the cross drilled and slotted rotors look, but I guess I need to do more research.......

who do you know that has had rotors crack from drilling? i don't know anyone and i know a ton of car people.. i think this is an often discussed urban legend of cross-drilled rotors. aside from those few people who track their cars, drive them insanely hard and probably bought the cheapest/non brand-name rotors; i don't know anyone with cross-drilled rotors that has ever encountered a crack.

i am 99% positive if you buy brembo cross-drilled rotors and they crack they will send you a new set for free.

Project Mu pads and the Brembo rotors are available for both Brembo and Non-Brembo g's n z's.

Lemme find the link for LIL Devil motorsports....
http://www.lildevilmotorsports.com/p...oducts_id=5788

I may have lied. I tried finding them for non Brembo but they aren't listed on their site. I am almost positive Brembo makes direct replacement rotors for non brembo, but you may have to ask the guy at LIL Devil or search the Brembo site. These guys were the cheapest around. Front rotors are 327 I think rears are 311 and they don't try to gouge you on shipping! They have 5 warehouses in the US so shipping should be a few days no matter where you are located!

Project Nissans website can be found here. The pads are listed for the Z but they are the same.
http://www.projectnissan.com/

I HIGHLY RECO THE PROJECT Mu PADS!!!! I love em so far!!!

I like those Brembo rotors. I'll keep them in mind when I need new brakes.

Can the drilled rotors be turned the same as solid surface rotors? I don't see why not.
