Can you feel the pain?

I just filled up for $3.19/gallon of super unleaded! That was after passing half a dozen gas stations that were completely out of gas.

What's going on? I can't afford to keep going through gas at 12 miles to the gallon (when I'm really opening up the S/C) and I have to drive my car like a grandma in order to get the 22mpg to get me through the week on one tank.

1 tank = 20 gallons
20 gallons * 3.199/gallon = $64.00 per week

Then there's the Sequioa and I just got my electric bill which was 25% higher than normal, plus grocery prices are going up quickly... This is gonna start to hurt pretty soon.

I know, I have been driving my dads '94 Corvette since it actually gets better mileage than my G now. On the highway I can stretch it to about 30mpg. Gainesville has horrible gas prices as it is, knowing that all the students are "locked" here, now they are up to $3.20+ for the good stuff.

Chevron on the corner was "only" $3.07 last night. And my G is getting 13.6mpg, and it ain't supercharged. That's with granny driving (well a rather spirited granny). On the bright side, luckily I have good friends and family, because I haven't paid for gas in the past 1.5 months or so

Don't we really own Iraq, where's our cheap oil now?

I made sure to fill up the other day at 2.95/gallon. However, with my commute I have to fill up at least twice a week.

If I owned any dealership that sold Hybrid's my sign right on the street would say, "$3 a Gallon Got You Down? Our Cars Go 660 Miles for $36! Come Drive a Prius Today!" Or something...

Georgia I heard was at $6 a gallon when they should be at $3. The Governor supposedly is speaking with the Government about price gouging.

You guys should defintely be looking at sites where to get the cheapest gas in your state. In Carmel, Indiana they were serving up $3.49 but if you went to the Marathon near the airport its $2.49 (indygasprices.com). Price gauging up the @$$ all over this country. Its sad when we start using any excuse possible to make more money and even more sad when no one is held accountable. Perhaps this will push for alternatives. Heard some guys modded a prius and sucks 250mpg outta its tank. I just hope they don't reduce the speed limit again though like in the 70's. Oh and turn ur VDC off, i went from about 21.6 to 27.5mpg.

Blindspot,

Do you have any sites to recommend? I'm sure everyone could benefit from knowing where the cheapest gas in the area.

We could even start a sticky thread where people in Florida can report what price and where, so others can check it out.

Go to http://miamigasprices.com and search for your area. I assume there are similar sites for Orlando, Tampa, etc.

I heard from my roommate that there is a pipeline running from NewOrleans to Atlanta which supplies most of Geogia with its gas. Therefore with that stopped its costing them much more to get the gas to the stations, hence the $2+ increase.
