Unhappy New speakers not working right...

I don't know what's going on, but these new door speakers sound awful. They sound like they're rattling inside of the doors and maybe they have too much power?

I have a LLC (LOC) and haven't tried adjusting that yet, but I have the gain on the amp turned all the way down and am not liking the sound too much. The speakers are definitely louder (which is good) but the clarity is not there.

Is it possible that I'm putting too much power to these speakers? Could it be the Line Level Convertor needs to be adjusted? Any advice?

i think its cause they are hitting the orginal guide thing on the door panel. remember what alan said we need to cut but you didnt want to. cause it rest in the middle of the speakers.

elaborate more on this rattle sound

Cool. I figure we can cut all we want and we can also adjust the LLC. Anything to get it to sound better and I'll be totally happy with this set up (at least until I get my new amp, 4080 box and my JL sub...)

There is no easy way. Do you have your sub facing directly forward or backwards? In our cars sideways seems to work the best. Do you have the 6x9's in? Taking them out helps alot. I can't remember what you had as far as stereo. You know how much I like my 4080 box!!

Found the cluprit... (Swallows pride) Alan was right. I need to dremel the door pannel. My buddy at work went out to my car, popped off the window control panel and we turned on the stereo. Both front speakers are touching the door pannel.

Looks like Dan and I have a date with a dremel tool. (Dan, do you have a dremel or the necessary attachment to cut the plastic?)

I didn't want to stop!!! CUT CUT CUT woo hoo!!!

The sound is 100 times better now. Just need to get than annoying high frequency whining to stop. I think I'll have to ground the LLC and the Amp better, maybe even wrap the car in foil! Then again, I probably won't be able to hear it after Thursday.
