Moving to the Tampa Area.. Soon
Well Im moving to Tampa for a job offering I got. I have never been there, Im from Miami, moved to Melbourne and now heading over to the Bay area. My boss is putting me up in a hotel for a month at his expense so I can see how I enjoy it over that way.. Im looking for a condo/home either rent or own.. in the downtown area which is where I think the office is, off of hillsborough and waters ave. Anyone know of any nice condos in the area? I look foward to some meets over there and hopefully good times.. what should I do when I get there.. gonna be pretty bored in a hotel by myself every night for the first while lol..

Hillsborough and Waters is 15 minutes from my parents house. I'd check out the Westchase area. There are alot of nice homes/condos over there. My friends actually bought a townhome over there for $2xx,000...it's a really nice place.
Hillsborough and Waters don't cross both run east and west. They are not near downtown town either. There are a bunch of new condos in the down town area that are really nice you might wanna look in Channel Side are Harbor Island. Also mighyt wanna try Post Rocky Point on the Causeway there rerally nice plus they have garage's.

I think a lot of us are going to Jeremy's Performance Factory Dyno Day on the 6th of May. If you're here by the 6th, you can caravan over with us if you want to.
We'll probably have a local Tampa/St.Pete/Clearwater a couple of weeks after Jeremy's Meet. Dan and I always post them here, so you won't miss it.
It really depends on what your price range is. There are plenty of old apt. complexes that have been bought and are now being sold as condos for about 200k and up. Those are not in the downtown area and are a bad idea in my opinion. If you really want to live downtown you are going to pay a lot more for a lot less sq. ft. About 300-500k for a 1-2 bedroom with 700-1200 sq. ft. These are just wide estimates so the best thing to do is look on the internet. Like someone else said Hillsborough and Waters run parallel to each other and both are long streets so you might be staying somewhere nice or not.
Alright thanks guys.. well all I have is the address really which is 1412 w. waters ave suite 12 lol.. so thats really what im going off here.. i didnt get much notice but its 2 good of a job to pass up so I guess ill just be heading over there and figure it out..

That address is definetly not downtown. I can't tell you if the immediate area around that address is good or not. I'm thinking it's mostly businesses.
To the west about 7-10 miles is Westchase-huge housing development with houses, condos, and apts. very nice but pricey...The Citrus Park area is next to Westchase and is supposed to be nice but I haven't been through there enough...
To the Northwest about 7-10 miles is New Tampa (where I live) with multiple subdivisions, condos, and apts., nice area with mid to high end prices.
Anything directly east in Temple Terrace probably isn't good and directly south is ghetto until you get to Tampa Bay and then you are paying waterfront prices. North of there is mostly apts. and not too great.
Good luck.

You could blow some money at Mans Venus. I am sure with $500 you can have sexy time!
Anyways, there are a lot of newly converted or built condos in that area and even around ybor. Decent prices too and nice places. Definitely take the time to thoroughly shop around whether you rent or buy. I would prefer to buy now since the market is good. Many places are giving no closing costs and no HOA fees for 2 years as a standard. You can work it from there.

Thanks for all the feedback guys I appreciate it. Not sure what to do I dont think its even worth it for me to look at places right now... maybe just get out there and look on the weekends till I find something.. I hate being rushed into something like moving but such is life.. looking foward to some heavily crowded meets!
