05 Coupe RevUp 6MT Brake Upgrade
Well, since I now have some extra money lying around, I was thinking that it might be a good thing to look into upgrading the stock brake components in the near future. This is an example of what's been quoted to me from one Vendor so far.
05 Coupe RevUp 6MT Brake Upgrade:
StopTech 1 Piece F/R Slotted Rotors ( I was told that the 2 Piece were for Brembo Equipped Vehicles only )
StopTech Stainless Lines F/R
Project Mu B-Force Pads F/R
Motul 3 Bottles of RBF600
Package price of $857 Shipped
What do you think of this setup and/or what else do you guys recommend to substitute out with or to possibly lower the price a lil?
How are you liking your R1Concepts Rotors Shermie? Only downfall to yours is that it comes only Drill/Slot and i'm looking to have just Slotted.

i would drop the brake fluid, you dont really need racing brake fluid. just get some DOT4 fluid.
also talk with jeremy im pretty sure he gets the stoptech kits.
i believe when sherman was showing me these rotors, i saw just slotted ones.

Alright, that's just what was included in the quote at $42. Which DOT4 Fluid do you think would be better?

The B-Force pads are going to squeel like crazy, unless you are at the track. They don't warm up easily...and when they are cold, they are noisy! I'd recommend just getting the NS pads. That's what I have. If you install them right, there is no squeel.

you dont need racing fluid if your not racing w0
it just has higher boiling temps which his can will most likely never see.
i would just get dot4 fluid from napa or something, or that ate superblue brake fluid. i used my napa dot4 fluid at the road course day we had last summer and had no problems

The Stoptech rotors are made by Centric, so you may be able to find the good Centric made rotors for less money. It seems that only the one-piece models are available for the 05's, at least from Stoptech. Also check out Fast brakes and Racing Brake to see what they have.
Also, Axxis pads are a great alternative to more expensive pads, if money is an issue. My Axxis Ultimates were inexpensive and stop great, but they do dust a bit. I would probably go with the Axxis Metal Matrix.
And I agree with Daniel, off the shelf Valvoline (in the silver bottle) has good wet and dry boiling points and will be fine for everyday driving and occasional hard use. You should replace your brake fluid once a year anyway.

Jason, i was just in the same boat. i was going to get the Stoptech stg.2 upgrade but there is no package for our 05's.
What i got a vendor to do is piece a package together. So i'm getting Rotora rotors w/ stoptech SSlines and the motul fluid for $200 less than what ur paying.
p.s. how are rotora rotors? better than stoptech. I heard they were 2 piece someone chime in please?

Gilley is right.
Yeah you can get rotors for way cheaper and they are made inthe same factory from my understanding. The only thing is they stamp the name on it and you pay 400 bucks more.

What Pads did you get? Have you purchased this and do you have pics and opinions on it? Any links? Those Rotora's do look nice, even though they're Drill/Slot.
I'm torn on which to get, Slotted or Drill/Slot?!?!?!?!
Post up with some pics when you're done. Send me a PM with the prices you got or the links. I'm looking for the best of the best deals as most all my money is tied up in something else.
I'll need Rotors, S/S Lines of some sort, but excellent quality. Ex. Stoptech, Rotora, Centric, R1 Concepts, etc.... Plus whatever brands are available in the Lines.
I'm going to get the Project Mu NS Pads, so any places come to mind for the best price on that?
