Help with headers!!!

Hello all. I am a new member here and I am really excited to be making part of the Florida G35 Club. I would like to ask for some help. There are a lot of people here with some amazing MODs. So, getting an input from you guys will mean a lot.
I've done 2 MODs on my G so far.
* K&N cold air intake
* Stillen dual cat back exhaust
I want to do the headers now. Any recommendations?? Also, will I notice the difference? I will be very honest with you. I love the Stillen exhaust . It sounds amazing!!!! But it seems that I lost some low end torque!!! However, the car really takes off after 4500RPM. Anyway, I would hate to do the headers and know that I would be losing some low end torque. I thought about Stillen or Nismo Headers. Stillen headers are about $700. Nismo, on the other hand, is about $1100. Is Nismo way that better??? Thank you all in advance for your input!!

I think you're probably best off with a nismo knock off like strup. My understanding is that they are just like nismo but much cheaper. Everyone seems to agree that crawford makes the best headers... but they are expensive to buy and tricky (and expensive) to install. If I were going to do headers (which I might someday) I'd probably go with strup.

Thanks for your input Stpdevil!!! I appreciate it! Do you think that the Crawford headers are more expensive than the Nismo's? Thank you!

Well, here I go again - The Broken Record. Strup, DC, et al, are what I call UJH (Universal Japanese Header) They are the same. The Strup is not a Nismo Knock off. The Nismo has a real collector, the Strup does not. The only Nismo clone is the BRM Header, with a real collector. Crawford, Nismo and BRM all have collectors, the others all have pipes merging into a larger pipe. And Yes the Crawford is the best, but expensive and tough to install, but IMO, very much worth it.

BRM is here:

My Crawfords (before install) are here:

I have the Strup headers. They were about $500. From what I can recall, the Crawfords were over $1,000 and you basically have to lift the engine to get them in. That being said, the Strups did not give the gains one would expect from a header mod on a 6cyl engine. I am too lazy to look it up for you, but I posted long ago with some dyno results over my basic sets of bolt on mods...

Honestly, I'd spend the extra $$$ if I had to do it all over again for the Crawfords or just skipped the $1100 (don't forget install costs) expense and gotten the utec instead...

+1 for crawford if you've got the money to spend.

Regarding headers...I echo everyone sentiments in agreeing that Crawford headers are one of the best headers for our cars. While nismo headers are good, I believe that you're just paying for the brand name.

I have the DC sport stainless steel headers on my car. I like them but if I had the money at the time, I would have opted for crawford headers. The install of the crawford headers is very challenging for an average mechanic/tech (I had mine installed at Lokey Infiniti's performance division in Clearwater, FL). The DC's are like nismo as they were made to fit easy without having to tip the engine. What I like about the DC headers as compared with some of the other clones (like strup, topspeed, pro-1, alphaworks, etc. = all clones of the DC sports header design) as they grind down the inner piping in the collector = better flow/exhaust scavenging.

I've included some pics of both the crawford (left) and DC headers and their collectors.

And lowrider, you are a crawford nut hugger (j/k, i love their products too, i've got their cast plenum)

Had them on my 04 and loved em. Ive got alphawerks on my 05 and cant complain, but the Crawfords did have a better sound. Didnt have either car dynod so I cant speak for the gains, and going from the 04 to the revup 05 taints the butt dyno.

I can't thank you guys enough!!!! The info you all provided me did help! I was really clueless about the headers, brands, etc…
I will be using my income tax to buy the headers. That being said, I will take your advice and go with Crawford. Sometimes the cheap comes out expensive. Not only that, it appears that Crawford headers is really the way to go.
Once again, thanks for your input guys!!!!

They are great, but let me warn you again (from owning them) they are almost twice as expensive to have installed/uninstalled. Make sure you find a shop that is good and will follow the instructions. Good luck!

Both the CAI and exhaust were installed at Orlando Infiniti. I just wanted some peace of mind!! I don't know any other reputable shops here in Orlando. Yes, they are expensive. ($105 per hour)
CAI cost me $150 to be installed. The exhaust, which I thought was going to take more than 2 hours, only took them 1. So, it cost me $105 plus tax. Oh, and yes... I'm keeping every single receipt from them.
