Can you believe that the guy that bought my bike got killed on it?
I sold my bike in mid July (the 18th I think). The guy had some experience on a 600 but this was his first 1000. My brother and I both warned him about the power of the bike. The first weekend he got it he lightly crashed it. I thought he was learning, but I guess not. Just last weekend he lowsided it again.
The owner, Manny Falcon, was my brother's friend. Wednesday night, Sept 13, 2006, he was speeding and crashed into a car, which killed him.
I met him a couple of times after he bought the bike and he seemed like a nice kid. I even met his mother. I feel kinda weird because I sold him the bike and now he's dead.

Motorcyclist Dies in Crash
Witnesses say the victim had been weaving through traffic about 90 mph.

LAKELAND -- A speeding motorcyclist was killed early Thursday morning when his bike slammed into a car on U.S. 98 North in Lakeland.
Manuel Omar Falcon, 22, of Lakeland, who was not wearing a helmet, was weaving in and out of traffic at speeds approaching 90 mph, according to witnesses, Falcon was driving a 2001 Suzuki in the northbound lane when he collided with a 1996 Oldsmobile that had made a Uturn into his lane of traffic, a police report said. He died at the scene.
Falcon's speed caused the accident, Lakeland police spokes-man Jack Gillen said.
"These are very powerful motorcycles," he said. "It appears a lot of people are riding them irresponsibly."
The driver of the Oldsmobile,
Donald F. Elwood, 74, was treated at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. A hospital spokeswoman, citing privacy rules, said she could not release information on Elwood's condition.
Falcon's death is Lakeland's 16th traffic fatality this year. Countywide there were 14 motorcycle deaths in 2005 and 17 deaths in 2004.

wow thats a lot of damage to the car. ya man, you cant fxck around on bikes. sadly people dont realize that. as bad as i want 1, ill never buy 1 cause i realize how dangerous they are.

I feel sorry for the old man. He's going to partially blame himself for the u-turn and not seeing the motorcycle (how could he at 90 mph). I also feel sorry for the family of the guy who proved Darwin's theory. I heard there is a 100%+ (the plus is for more than once) chance of wrecking a motorcycle the first year you own it.

That's pretty sad. I have more acquaintances than I care to know go the same way...
That being said, in our overly litigious society, I probably would stay away from posting much more relative to the sale of the bike and anything discussed therein...I've seen bad things come of it on other boards where members sold fellow members/friends cars/parts and things went awry...

this is totally horrible! my condolences to his fam. i lost my bro on april 14th when he "lost control" of his M3 CSL in miami. him and his good friend were ejected instantly, car flipped, rolled, and skidded for over 700ft! my bro died instantly and his buddy made it out alive...i couldnt bear looking at his M3 in the impound...worst days of my life!! cars are extremely dangerous themselves let alone bikes and not wearing a helmet!

Wow that is brutal but please don't feel as if you need to bear any of the guilt man.
I rode for years and always wore a helmet but one day I decide to go out without and ended up slag surfing and fortunately lived to tell about it. Ever rider knows right from wrong. He was plain wrong this morning.
Oddly a guy I work with was caught up in the traffic caused by the accident and he said the scene was not easy on the eyes.
my prayers are with his family
