My Alaskan adventure (no way, 56k)
Well, I can't sleep...so I figured what better time to post up my picture from my cruise in Alaska. It's now 4am and I've been cropping pictures and such for 3 hours now.
Just a little backgroud from the cruise...Lauren (my ex-girlfriend) and I went on a 7-day cruise, which sailed from the port of Seattle. We were at sea for 2 days and we were in port for 4 days: Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway, Alaska and Victoria, B.C.
We did an excursion in each port. We did the Canopy and Wildlife Expedition which consisted of 7 zip-lines and 3 aerial bridges. That was absolutely amazing...hands down the best thing I have ever done in my life! We also did the Mendenhall Glacier and Whale Watching Tour. It was extremely foggy, so we didn't get to see the glacier all too well, but the whales were abundant. In Skagway, we took a 3-hour train ride up to a mountain summit of almost 3,000 ft. It was beautiful and extremely cold. Our last tour was of Victoria, B.C. and it's famous Craigdarroch Castle.
I have too many pictures to load, so I'll load them in sets.
Our ship, the Sun Princess

Downtown Seattle while pulling out of port

Ballers

Our first night at dinner

A nasty $10 martini that was "martini of the day"...more like martini of the day for me to poop on!

The result of too much drinking...no seriously, Lauren and I were goofing around in the bedroom. She pushed me pretty hard into the bed while i had the camera in my hand. I hit the bed and the camera fell and cut my forehead open. Yay.

A cool feature on the Canon SD550 is that you can choose a color and have everything else in the image black and white.

Next to the ship that I took 9 years ago when I last went to Alaska

I don't need to explain this one

Check out the link to my video of zip lining

Lauren going across one of the smaller zip lines out of the 7 that we did

Can you say awesome?

Everyone was a winner that day...even Shermie would have been

There was salmon in every form of water laying on the ground...it was ridiculous

The best view of the Mendenhall Glacier that we could get in Juneau, Alaska

Some Humpback Whale from Juneau, Alaska

We were watching this whale for maybe 10 minutes and then it disappeared for a few minutes. All of a sudden, it popped up maybe 25 feet away from our tour boat.

The only time we saw sea lions...this small island had maybe 100 of sea lions and probably 20 seals

The fog made it look like the trees were on fire

This is what the weather looked like for 3 days straight. Low 50s, windy, rainy, and foggy

The popular totem pole in Alaska

Laying around someone's yard...one man's junk is another man's treasure

Weird place for a cross

This was a way you could tell bears were around the area...dead salmon

Our train ride in Skagway, Alaska

Why is there lakes an rivers on the peak of an almost 3000 ft tall mountain and how does it get that color?

The Craigdarroch Castle in Victoria, B.C.

Lauren on the top of Mt. Tolmie

E.T.

A 360 degree view of Mt. Tolmie

Oh Canada

I saw a ton of 5.0 Mustangs and they all looked brand new, including this supercharged one. They didn't look anywhere close to the p.o.s. ones you always see here.

The Victoria Marina with the Legislative Building in the background

And the plane ride home from Seattle to Atlanta...the biggest plane I've ever been on. It was a Boeing 767.
