Bradenton 1/4mile this Thursday

Anyone want to go? I'm meeting my friend Brian out there with his '99 M Coupe. He's bringing along some of his friends.

Just go. It's what...your first week of school? Nothing important happens that week.

Well, my test pipes arived at about 2:30. I lifted up the car and went to work. Well...tried to. It was pretty much near impossible to reach the bolt on the high-flow cat near the manifold. I've called a few places to see if I could get them on asap before the track. No can do... Oh well, I guess I'll just have to go with the plan of doing a pre/post dyno.

Thanks for the tip....the cats are the only thing I/friends haven't installed.

I ran about 7 times tonight? I had a lot of fun, actually. I met some new people, including a guy with a 350 and a guy in an S2000 who I ran 3 times. I met another guy who brought his Civic, but left his '05 G35 coupe back home. I let him know about the dyno day. I saw a friend from high school who now has a turbo E36 M3...sick! I drove over an hour to get there and then ran 3 times back to back. You want to know my first 3 runs? Hahaha, how about a 14.5-14.7 @ 95mph. I ran a few 14.1s @ 96/97mph. My trap speeds were horrible compared to my ETs. I will definitely be in the 13s once cooler weather gets here...even without my test pipes, but they will be on the car.

Yeah I had trouble taking off the driver side cat so needless to say I still have yet to install my test pipes (that I got 3 weeks ago). Reaching the top bolts was hard enough actually breaking it loose was impossible. Just looking for a local shop that will actually agree to do the work now.

Wish I had seen this thread sooner, I definitely would have come out to Bradenton. Ive been meaning to take a test run out there.

Yeah, finding a shop to take off the cats is tough. That's why I didn't complain when I was quoted $70 from XAT Racing, where our dyno day is tomorrow. You should bring them along if you are still coming tomorrow.

Hey I couldnt make it to Tampa for the Dyno day (had some things come up). Did you end up getting your test pipes installed? If so how were the before and after dynos?

Rather disappointing...but after driving aroudn town with them all day, I do feel a little more pull up top. A slight rasp, but if it gets me in the 13s...I'll deal with it. I dynoed at roughly 9:45am with the HKS exhaust, Crawford Plenum and cats. I did 240. At about 3ish, I dynoed with the Fast Intentions test pipes in place of the cats. I did 241. I'm hoping there's a few variables as to why the numbers weren't as great as I was hoping...one being that I took it for a hard run aroudn the block before the dyno with the TPs. This was evident when I gained 2hp more after each run. Also, there's the debated "reset" of the ECU. Blah, blah, blah. I was disappointed. O well. I had a ton of fun though at the dyno day.

Well good to hear everyone had fun.... that counts too. Yeah hopefully the gains with the test pipes are more than what is shown from the dyno. I'm thinking about putting mine on at the end of next week I kind of wanted to dyno today to get a before and after like yourself.

Let me know next time you guys plan to run at bradenton I'll more than likely join you.
