Special R2C Performance Intake Group Buy!!!
I got mine installed tonight. Now I see why people are saying it's the best intake for the G37. It sucks air in like a vacuum and sounds mean, especially when you open the throttle up. WOW. I love the overall look, especially the fit and finish. The mounting was perfect, especially the cut-outs around the box. It was OEM-like. Just excellent.
I disconnected the battery before install and reset the ECU after install. I had to reset my windows after install because of the battery disconnect. I referred to the manual for my 2008 because the 15-second window reset wasn't working for me, but the 3-second, one-window-at-a-time reset worked.
My one complaint is the mismatched hoses! I received one 2.75" diameter rubber hose and one 3.5". The 3.5" was way too large. I had to go to Autozone and pick up a 3" Spectre brand fitting and just clamped it on tight.

ya, I think they ares supposed to come with different hoses, my passenger side inlet tube hose will not fit onto the main intake tube they way it is angled, I can barley get it on and it's bent like a ****. Waiting for R2C to maile me the hoses....
No man, I should have taken some pics but I was pissed and ran short on time. But when I install next week I'll take pics of what I'm talking about. I'm interested to see how the new hose they are going to ship us is going to work.
No I did not, that's not in the world class, Grade A instructions. First I heard of it was from the other post by the guy who said he re positioned it to get it to fit correctly. Next week I'm going to try again on a day when I have nothing to do so I can take my time. Hopefully only one screw will get stripped and none will get broken off, that would make my day...
I'm no genius, but one would think that if you have to reposition a damn intake hose that would be mentioned in the instructions, or did I just read over that? Was pretty pissed by the time I got there from breaking off MAF screws and stuff so I could have missed it.
BTW the replacement screws I found at the hardware store are not like the stock ones, they don't have the head than can be wrenched on, hopefully the ones R2C sends us will, or it be tough. I'm going to use your screwdriver idea to try and clear off some of the chrome, but I think it may be down in the threads as well...

mine were in the threads as well, i used a wrench to drive it in.
instead of taking pics of ur install, i think a video would be better.....lol
dont ask what it says in the instructions, you know where mine ended up

Yeah you did. You showed us on your review thread here:

I'm not talking about the tiny hoses that connect mid-way down the pipes, I'm talking about the large diameter hoses for connecting the pipes to the throttle body, the "intake couplers". I received a 2.75" diameter, about 3" length hose, and another 3.5" diameter, also about 3" length hose. I believe I should have received TWO 2.75" diameter hoses. I had to go to Autozone to get a 3" and just make it work by clamping it down hard to fit the 2.75" diameter pipe.. In fact, I bought this exact item.
My Autozone didn't have any in store, but on the Autozone website I saw that K&N seems to have some 2.75" diameter rubber hoses which seem like they'd fit perfectly.
