SOHO Motorsports Intake + Remote Tune

Posting up a review of the SOHO Motorsports VHR intakes and tune (since you really need the tube to see the benefit anyway).

Straight away, received them last summer. Very good build quality. Can't see the quality of the welds since I opted for wrinkle black powdercoating, but having seen some of their other products in person, I would believe they're very high quality. Install was straightforward and the normal trimming around the radiator support was needed. Good, clear instructions are provided. All-in-all the intakes sit nicely and look as good as they perform. The only thing I would maybe like is some sort of bracketry to hold them up behind the grille. They're just kind of free floating there.

As far as the tune, the Ecutek product is very user friendly and SOHO made the whole tuning process very painless. You download the software, upload the tune file and then datalog, sending the corresponding info back to SOHO for adjustment. They send the file back, and so it goes. In lieu of having actual Dyno time, this is a decent way to go, as power gains are definitely noticable throughout the powerband. The car feels completely different.

If anyone has any questions or needs opinion/input, feel free to ask!

Nice! Those look really good. I've been wanting to see some more feedback on these. Nik @ SOHO tuned my car and was very helpful. I'd like to pick these up whenever they offer the intake/re-tune combo deal.

Hit up CWorksDesign on here or Instagram for support brackets. He started making/selling them recently.

Ah man thank you those are perfect for just keeping them in place. As far as the intakes go, for fit and finish it's hard to ask for anything better. I'd definitely say don't hesitate, except for taking them up on a deal. Haha. Here they are with everything put back together

How much did the tune cost you?

Ditto that. Check out their site and give them a ring! They're super nice guys. I can't remember the exact dollar amount; I ordered a few things at once from them.

That intake looks sharp. Does the radiator shroud need to be trimmed to fit the coupler through?

It does, I think the only one that claims you don't have to do that is the z1 intake, right? Even then I don't feel good cramming the coupler in that hole and leaving it like that. It really wasn't that bad an operation trimming the thing out. I just used a carbide burr. Took maybe five minutes total to do both sides.
