Kinetix HFC's with stock exhaust review

I searched high and low for a review with this setup and couldn't find it other than one guy on here that has them on his sedan but that didnt tell me much considering I have a coupe. My OEM cats were rattling in the housing so I ended up going with these as a replacement/mod.. So here is my own review of the Kinetix HFC's on my G37S coupe with the stock exhaust.

I ordered the HFC's from CZP and they came well packaged with no damage. Paid roughly $400 shipped. Had them installed yesterday at a local shop for $175 which was a deal considering the headache these come with if you install them yourself. The tech is a friend of mine and he said he broke two of his extensions trying to get the "demon bolts" out where the exhaust manifolds bolt to the cats.. so I was glad I got a decent deal on the install and didn't have to mess with it. I got the car back early this morning, reset the ECU and left the shop. First thing I noticed was a more aggressive exhaust note that I fell in love with very quickly. I was expecting a change but was not expecting it to sound this good. It seemed to get better the more I drove it too lol maybe that was just me, who knows haha One thing I did not want from these is RASP and luckily these don't seem to bring any that I can here. Maybe a tiny bit when after a cold start but definitely none at all once things get warmed up. I haven't dyno'd the car at all so I can't say for sure whether I've gained any extra HP but it certainly feels like it. All in all these cats are everything I could've hoped for and more. Here are a few pics and a short clip of the exhaust note.

Surprisingly no rasp. Usually most HFC's with stock catbacks have rasp in them. make some videos!

Why does the sedan owner's experience not help you?

The sedan exhaust is quieter from the factory than the Coupe exhaust. The coupe exhaust is also supposed to be more free flowing than the sedan if I’m not mistaken.

Yet, coupe and sedan are rated at the same power except for the IPL.

SUPPOSEDLY there is a 2hp difference between the sport and journey packages. How true that is, I don’t know... might be true, might be marketing.

^ he’s right. The sedan has two mufflers, one per exhaust tip. Whereas the coupe has one muffler with two exits.
