Stillen gen 3 CAI
Stillen gen 3 CAI
I'm teeming with excitement and wanted to share that I will be installing the stillen gen 3 CAI this Sunday. A little write up will follow with pics and videos.
Update: 4/27/2014
Installed the stillen gen3 CAI today. Despite what some ppl say it's a straight forward install. You will definitely need to remove the radiator cover and grill. Removal of stock air boxes are easy. Just take your time. Next you will have to cut the ducts near the radiator to allow the passage of the stillen intake tubes. I didn't have to cut the driver side at all bc durin test fit the tube went thru without any resistance. IMPORTANT: make sure the driver side tubes do rub/ touch your AC lines! Test fit everything and double check your work. Bolts, nuts, mad sensor, clamps, etc. then tighten everything down. Slap the bumper and radiator cover back on and enjoy!
No CEL thrown. Responsiveness is better and the sound is great, especially the my top speeds axle back.
Now for the pics:
Filters are freaking filthy

Bought the K&n cleaning kit, 12$. Followed the instructions, repeated steps 1 and 2, now waiting for them to dry.

I was very excited to get mine in too but I did not remove the radiator cover at all and it fit just fine. By the way you are not only missing the splash guard but there should be a bracket that holds the filters together.
Right now it looks like you're forcing the passenger side filter upward to fit that bolt where it does not go. This can eventually rip the filter at that point at the top. The drivers side filter is not bolted to anything and looks like it might bounce while driving, that could possibly damage you a/c lines.

The guy I got them from is looking for the bracket and water shield in his garage. I'm hoping he finds it, unless I'm going to have to mcguyver something. Lol. Thank you for your input!
