3.692 Carrier (2007-2008) Swap into 2011 Auto
Hi All,
I Have: 2011 G37 Journey Coupe ( S Package ) 7AT with 3.357 VLSD
I Desire to change Carrier to : 3.692 VLSD (from 2007-2008) G37 Automatic
Like this one:
2007-2008 G37-G35 3.692 Locking
I believe that the 2007-2008 Pinion Flange for this carrier is the 3 Spoke Design I need for my Stock Driveshaft ?
So…
1. Will my Stock AT Driveshaft from my 2011 Coupe ( listed above ) couple to this 3.692 Pinion Flange ( 2007-2008 Automatic) with NO Modification ?
In other words – is this swap 100 % Plug and Play without any Driveshaft /Carrier Flange modifications/swaps?
2. Will the (2007-2008 ) 3.692 Differential Case – with VLSD -- allow the 3.916 Ring/Pinion Gear to be used ?
In other words -- is this ( 2007-2008 ) 3.692 differential case physically large enough to fit the Larger 3.916 Ring/Pinion without any modifications ?
I probably wouldn’t change the 3.692 gear set from this ( 2007-2008) carrier– but I’m just curious if this could be done if I decide to move to the 3.916 set up later?
3. Will my OEM CV Axles from my 2011 3.357 VLSD work with this ( 2007-2008 ) carrier without any modification to the Differential Axle stubs or the stock OEM CV axels ?
I’d like to simply swap in the (2007-2008 ) 3.692 Carrier and 100 % reuse my existing Driveshaft and CV axles without any modifications whatsoever.
Thanks to all of the Driveline/ Carrier experts who can provide me with answers and feedback regarding this potential swap !
