$7k to fix a 2010

I've recently been quoted $7k to repair my 2010 G37 XS sedan with 140k miles. The main problems are the head gasket and water pump. Is it worth fixing for $7k...?

Coolant flush $200, fan belt $225, radiator hoses 570, thermostat oil change 140, brake flush $200. And then cylinder head was 3860 and your water pump was 1530.

It's hard to estimate whether this repair is worthwhile without knowing what caused the problems in the first place? Is your G in good shape or does it need multiple cosmetic repairs. Are you mechanically talented at all? Can you do some of the work yourself?

Was this a dealership quote, or an independent shop? At the dealer near me, they include a coolant drain and fill with hose replacement; seems that this would be the case with a water pump replacement as well since most of the coolant will drain out of the car when repaired. Hose and thermostat replacement with a coolant flush is a DIY job if you are up to it.

The head gasket and water pump are much more involved, so I would price those out at a few different shops.
