Hello y'all, I was curious if anyone has done the axle seal on a G37x or a G35X. If so what tool did you use to drive it in? When putting the seal in did you make it flush with the housing or did you bottom it out?

 

Hey, any chance you have an update on this. I’m replacing my front seal right now and am having troubles installing it. How did you end up driving it in? Thanks!

 

I went to advance auto and rented there tool set. They had a socket which was a perfect size to the seal. I made it flush, do not drive it in.

What I did is, used some diff fluid on the seal as well as inside of the differential just to make it easier to push it in. Initially, I used the socket and pushed the seal in with my hand only just to make sure it was going in straight. Once I could not push it in anymore by hand I grabbed a small hammer and just went around the socket slowly until the seal sat flush with the differential.
