Power steering issues

So I just recently replaced my power steering pump bc it was going bad (whining, little to no ps below like 1.5k rpm, leaking from the pump itself) but after installing the new one the whining is back and I just woke up today with an empty ps reservoir and no power steering. Yesterday I tried turning complete left to right to get rid of any possible air bubbles but all that did was make the pump whine and make the once filled reservoir bubble up, overfill, and spill out. When i looked at the pump it doesn't look like it was leaking from the pump itself though which i think is good. Does anyone know what exactly is wrong and what needs to be fixed before I take it to a mechanic??

Sounds like you just need to refill it one more time

I think the oil finally made it into the pump and emptied out your reservoir

Just like Birdie stated, unless there is fluid in the ground from another leak all of the air from the system finally left the reservoir which lowers the level of the fluid in it.
Keep adding fluid until the whining stops and level doesn't drop. FYI MAKE SURE YOU'RE NOT LEAKING FROM ANOTHER PLACE.
